Managed to get everything installed with a few problems, booting normally will give me a kernel panic (which i believe to be graphics related). I can boot in safe mode to which it gives me the "Detect your keyboard" screen and then i get through to the "Do you already own a mac" after selecting no, it just hangs there no matter how long i leave it and if im correct the next section is the lan setup wizard, so i think it may have something to do with my onboard dual nic, ive tried it both disabled through bios and enabled and yet it hangs at the same place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hardware Info:

MSI K9N Ultra (NVIDIAŽ nForce 570 MCP)
Sound: Realtek ALC883
Network: Vitesse VSC8601

AMD x2 4600+
ATI x1800 GTO
2GB Corsair DDR2 6400

Boot with "Graphics Mode"="640x480x32", it'll skip the whole wizard.

Always check the wiki.

After booting in safe mode with the graphics mode in 640, i take it no one has come across this yet?

After trying it again with the network disabled and audio disabled also, in safe mode with 640 graphics mode it says the setup assistant cannot run (as most people say it would skip it allowing me to do what i needed) only when i click ok it just hangs again.

Go into your bios and disable your onboard LAN. Thats what worked for me.

(which i believe to be graphics related)
Tell us about the exact Kernel Panic Information. It might be the very common Nvidia Kernel Panic, which is easy to fix.

I know that the "Do you already Own A Mac"-Dialogue does not work in safe mode. At least it didn't do for me.

its quite a large kernel panic, ill get a pic of it now

Right, sorry about the crookedness of some of the image but i had to take it in 3 parts and stick it together because couldn't fit it all in one.

You have to delete the GeForce and Nvidia.kexts, look in the Wiki for this: http://osx86.wikidot.com/known-issues

Yes, Bap, I am glad to tell you that this is a very common error, and it is very easy to solve.

Actually 50% or more of us had this error.

This is caused by the GeForce Kexts that are installed by default.
The issue is resolved by removing the GeForce kexts at boot, and it can be done as followed:

Boot in single user mode, -s
Type:

mount -uw /
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext
exit

You could have checked the wiki, it's in there ;)

Right that worked, now i just have the small problem of getting passed the account creation section, it hangs there :(

New Update: Worked a little more on it today trying to get past the account creation, but as of yet no solutions have worked. It seems to be a strange problem i get through all the screens on the start up assistant and when i get through to the account creation and hit continue it hangs.. but it is actually creating the accounts as i am unable to use the same information a second time round because another user account is already using the details.

Does anyone know the next screen after the account creation or if there isnt one could there be anything else you can think of that might cause it to hang?

Thanks.

If you have an active Internet connection, the next 2 screens are "advertisements" explaning the virtues and trying to get you to buy ".Mac". After that it's a: "you can do ALL this kind of stuff" with your brand new OS screen. Then you finally get to the Desktop.

If you don't have an active Internet connection, I think it skips the ".Mac" stuff...

But, back to your problem...
I've never been able to work past the account creation stall once it's happened. I've always had to completely re-install again (and it's usually worked best if I re-partitioned while I was at it...)

The simplist way to get past the problem is to have a KNOWN WORKING, fully supported LAN Adapter. Seriously, it's much easier to just completely disable your onboard LAN and spend $10-$20 on a PCI Adapter that uses a Realtek RTL8139 (10/100) or RTL8169 (Gigabit) chip! Like this:

or: http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4434256#detailed
or: http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3887837#detailed

Just my 2 cents worth...

I can usually find them in Computer or Electronics shops. (they don't say "Realtek RTL8139 or RTL8169 on the box, but look at the card itself - you'll be able to spot the Realtek chip...) I bought several gigabit cards with the RTL8169 on sale at Fry's Electronics for $5.00 each. Those chips seem to be popular with the Chinese manufacturers.
