(Snow Leopard) My mouse jumps around once in a while, just skipping around while i drag or move things. Is there a fix for this?

I heard its appleupstreramuserclient.kext but I am not sure.

Is it the OSX acceleration?

I think it is but even if its not, I'm glad to remove any DRM crap.

Just rename it to something so it wont be loaded

Check my guide!

My m8 Pista modded the SleepEnabler to include a fix for this on my request.

It's the same lag as with Leopard only less obvious.

Please add [solved] when your problem is fixed with this so people with similar issues know when there's a solution available.

Thx

But it says that version is not modded to include the fix? and the link is broken too.

delete the AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext from /System/Library/Extensions folder.

worked for me..

Make sure the network cable is connected from your modem to your computer because the link is working just fine.
Modded kext is seperatly shared, unmodded is in kext package.
Also replied to you via PM and edited my guide to make it even more understandable.

Hope that helps

I have this problem too, but it is almost not noticeable.

Even though the mouse jumps are not that ocassional, they can get annoying at times so a fix would be nice. So if I delete the AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext kext, will the mouse stop jumping around? If so, what does this kext do? Is it safe to remove? I want to make sure before I delete or rename it.

The kext suposedly handles hdcp checking and enforcing when playing hd video to a external monitor over a digital connection.
It causes lag only with certain nvidia gpus and while quicktime/itunes is running.
Better to use a disabler than deleting it, so you are protected for future system updates.

What disabler you mean? BTW, I am running fully vanilla, 64bit.

Edit: The problem occurs only when iTunes or Quicktime is open. It is minimum, but noticeable at times. Either way I found the fix.

What was the fix you used?

Hello Guys,

I had exactly the same problem, noticeable lag all i did was remove the appleupstreamuserclient.kext, and that fixed the problem, but just rename yours and fix permissions on the drive to test..

Worked for me so everyone else should be good to go with that fix!!,

Cheers,
Rich.
