I've had Mac os x 10.5.8 working problem loss on my PS
quad core Q8800
Ram 4gb
VGA ATI Radeo 4870
HD: 500 gb SATA 2; 1Tb SATA 2; 80gb Ide
mobo P5K SE
installed with aitkos 10.5.7, and updated, but I’ve installed SL several time, and cant get to boot on successfully. I have 3HD, one 500 GB SATA2 with 2 partitions, one for VISTA X64(70GB) and other 430GB, second 1TB with 2 partitions, one for Mac and other for SNOW, and the third HD(80GB) old one.
The message that I’m getting after booting with -f is :
com.apple.AppleFSComresion ZLib loaded succeeded or something like that, and after that just waiting, waiting for root device
I've had no such problems with instaling Leopard 10.5.7
I've done everything as discribed in this forum, http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/how-to-install-snow-leopard-on-a-pc-t3137/
I saw today the guide for instaling SL od P5 mobo, with minimum modifications, i'll trie that later on.
Maybe i've done something more than needed
Any proposals or solutions

Before you try and install right click the drive you are installing to and select get info.
Make sure there isn't a tick in the ignore permissions at the bottom of sharing and permissions.
Also you know you have to add drive uuid to uuid kext and smbios.plist in extra folder?

Well, I have a P5K too and I was getting the same problems as you. I was going crazy but then I got a way to do it :P

I'll post a guide soon on this section, stay tuned for it. :)

Are you installing on the IDE drive? I had that issue while trying to test it out on an old IDE drive. I would up just making a CCC image of my 10.5.8 install on my 1 TB Sata drive and nuking it. Installed SL on the SATA drive and have had no issues, up and running since last Thursday. Used this guide http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/how-to-snow-leopard-gm-10a432-on-p5k-t3380/ Good Luck!
