Hai!

I tried to install snowOSX v3.5 that is floating around and the installation went through OK but when booting I get the following errors:

1. I got this one yesterday:

2. I got this one today with all packages installed:
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1011/img0101wp.jpg

My configuration is:
Asus P5LD2-SE (945P/G, ICH7)
Intel Core2Duo E6550 @ 2.33 GHz
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB
Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1
Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe
3 HDDs from which one (the newest) WD Caviar Blue 500GB is dedicated to MacOS and boots directly.

I have no access to other versions of MacOS installed (this is my first try) but I have access to the Mac partition via Macdrive from Windows 7 RC. For some reason all log files are 0Byte size so that's why I posted the shots.

Came here because on some "other forum" nobody wanted to help. :(

Update:

Latest iAtkos and iDeneb won't even boot. They boot stuck at a blank screen with a slash. Something won't load. I can't set my BIOS to AHCI since I'm using an IDE DVD drive. I bought a SATA drive today in hope that I can get rid of the IDE shit once and for all. Hope this will help with at least something.

Also downloading latest iPC but I would still like to see Snow Leopard on my shiny desktop than the plain leopard..

Anyone care to help, please?

The Live part of iPC booted without almost any problems and that means Mac OS X actually can work on my PC. This is still a very wonderful thing because this was my last DL DVD and I was on the very edge of abandoning this whole idea altogether.
so the iPC actually works and i'll try a full install tomorrow. i hope it'll all work, keep your fingers crossed.

since you already know my configuration i would greatly appreciate if you could give me a tip on which kexts i should install. i'm a complete noob (for hackintosh). and i would really get rid of the further experimentation. i have cookies for rewards.

thank you in advance.

Hi, i have the same motherboard. I success only with iDeneb 10.5.6 distro. Other distro's show me a black screen after install (-v -x -s don't help).

You installed 10.6 on your configuration?

Hi
Check No Executable status in bios (NX/XD) it should be enabled to make vanilla kernel works, also cpuid limit should be disabled, also SATA must be set as AHCI

I Hope this worked for you

Kind regards,
Snoc

I can't set SATA as AHCI. There is no option for that.. I have only some enhanced and compability mode to set.. :S

Dude, do not boot with SnowOSX 3.5 because you will never successful with it, I though it was created for a specific motherboard.

I have mobo Asus P5LD2-VM Revision 1.03 which is similar to your mobo.
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=orjq7G3HX3F0tRrN&templete=2

CPU Intel 630 3GHz 1 core HT SSE3 ( can't run Vanilla, a patched kernel is used )

I've installed successfully Leopard 10.5.8 and Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on a same Harddrive with PC EFI 10.5

I will post my complete success guide as soon as I finish my assignments

There is nothing called AHCI in yours and my mobo with Northbridge chipset ICH7 ( I believe that AHCI is available in ICH9 or 10, not sure, because I do not own such a new mobo like that ) but it doesn't mean that you can't install Snow Leopard.

I installed Leopard 10.5.6 first, I've used XXX 10.5.6 v2 follow this guide:
http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2009/04/leopard-os-x-1056-on-your-pc.html
The minor difference is that that guide uses iPC whereas I've used XXX

Then I followed this guide to install Snow Leopard
http://prasys.co.cc/2009/08/installing-snow-leopard-for-osx86/
Notes: you must learn how to create DSDT, use EFI String, select the right set of kexts for Snow Leopard

I dual boot Leopard and Snow Leopard by installing them into 2 partitions on the same Harddrive, boot loader is Chameleon + PC EFI 10.5, my HD is IDE and not SATA :D

As far as I know AHCI, IDE or SATA is not important, and yes, AHCI is the best choice. but we don't have and DON'T NEED AHCI

Then upgrade 10.6 to 10.6.2 using combo update downloaded from Apple

Good luck
