If yes, which application do you prefer, Parallels or VMware? Please feel free to share your experiences. :-) I personally prefer Parallels Desktop. I use it on my Mac to test and play with Linux distros sometimes, I like OpenSolaris a lot. :-D |

I also like parallels Desktop, I hadn't tested others yet. I use the Apple Remote to switch between fullscreen, window and coherence mode

Erm, the freeware virtualizer I really wanted to post here is VirtualBox. QEMU is another one, also for PowerPC.
@ Puttabong: But you need the Apple Remote Software Mira for it, Parallels has no inbuilt function for this. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. Naquaada which operating systems do you virtualize with Parallels? Certainly not Windows I suppose :-)

Actually none My 10.5.1 system is still experimental. I used Windows Media Center 2005 in Parralels. But I have no real Win installation anymore. I tested DOS 6.22, 7.01 and Solaris 10.
Can you write an dvd image with Toast? My system is always crashing since when I do that. I hope it's not the Opteron :-P 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. For me, Windows XP is better in Parallels Deskop than in VMWare fusion, whereas, Windows Vista is better in VMFusion than in Parallels Desktop. Weird huh? However, my preference is still Parallels, no doubt about it. =)
