as i had a perfect running system, i had to "upgrade" my graphics
my former gforce 8600gt ran "out of the box", my new ati hd 3870 doesnīt.. i tried installing (on an eternal hdd this time) both zeph 10.5.2 and leo4all with ati 3780 support ticked but to no avail. so i wonder how: 1. get osx to boot at all, basic vesa graphics (only tried install without any gfx drivers, -x bootup) 2. fixing / installing ati driver for my sapphire HD 3870 ultimate (passive card, not based on reference layout). maybe different device id? thanks in advance zuz Leopard 10.6.5 | Core i3 | Gigabyte H55M-USB3 | ATI 5770 | Coolermaster Cosmos |

(but i messed up with account creation it seems, so i have to install again...) macdrive is messing with my xp sys without granting access to osx partitions. is this normal? btw. device id is 0x9511002 Leopard 10.6.5 | Core i3 | Gigabyte H55M-USB3 | ATI 5770 | Coolermaster Cosmos |

still on it
installing with zephs release and ticking (the fitst?) two ati drivers gives me a "garbled screen" at boot. now im using -x to get into the system. here i get told that natit.kext is not installed properly and gfx is vesa only could anybody give me a clue how to proceed? i installed the driver package mentioned above, using pacifist with overwriting all files as i read a normal install sometimes leaves old files in place .. is there anything i could do with my device id? in ARTIRadeonX2000.kext it is included, in Natit it isnīt ... thanks {EDIT} after installing another driver (eddies this time), i got an instant reboot again. killed all ATI kext and natit, got basic vesa gfx again ... Solved!
I finally got a fully working osx install again!
The problem resided in the hardware, specific the motherboard chipset. After i changed from a Nforce board to a Gigabyte with AMD 790X, everything is fine. Leopard 10.6.5 | Core i3 | Gigabyte H55M-USB3 | ATI 5770 | Coolermaster Cosmos |
