This post makes a lot more sense to me now that I've got 10.6 running on my first Hack.
My system -> Asus P5B-Plus, q6600 CPU, Asus 8800 GTS (320MB) GPU.
I am up and running using EmpireEFI and then running myHack on the HDD install.
Audio worked with VooDooHDA.kext. No LAN yet, but I will try the patched IONetworkingFamily.kext when I get home tonight. No Firewire yet but I will try deleting the AppleHPET.kext.
I had a lot of trouble getting other BootCDs to work with my system. EmpireEFI is definitely the way to go with this mobo.
Looking forward to reporting firewire and LAN success.
