download the 10.5.5 update (single not combo) and extract the seatbelt.kext file from there. the 10.5.6 seatbelt.kext has been giving errors when opening up images for some.

oh... hmm.. guess I didn't pay too much attention to the picture except to see the seatbelt panic. have you tried backing it up and then deleting the original? This is what I had to do with mine since I wasn't able to open image files. I'm not quite sure of the cause for this yet... still looking into it.

Well it is the disk mounting that is causing the panic. It definitely looks like the seatbelt panic. You might try reinstalling it from 10.5.5 anyways, it couldn't hurt.

Replacing Seatbelt.kext fixed my problem. Strange as some images mount while others cause a kerne panic.

Does anyone know how seatbelt/sandbox determines which programs have access to which features. From what I have read this keeps malicious code from hijacking applications.

Well I spoke too soon. I am not having any troubles with images after replacing seatbelt but I am consistently getting panics of a different nature.

Well its time for this little guy to get returned. Not due to any issues or bugs but rather whats actually coming at the beginning of next year. This machine does pretty much everything I want to use it for but there are significant improvements coming next year and I would like to hold off till then. There has been word of a dual core atom processor and several new models.

From my experience with this machine I have set my requirements for my next purchase.

1. At least 1024x768 (1024x600 Some program windows are slightly larger than the screen. This mostly is an inconvenience however there are a small handful of programs which will not install & some where buttons are place so low you can't click them.

2. Upgradable to at least 2GB of memory

3. 2.5" hard drive (This acer uses it and really doesn't make it that much larger)

Optional:
4. Mini PCI Express Card
5. Firewire
6. Tablet convertible
7. Dual core atom processor (Though the atom 1.6Ghz works fine for what Id use it for.

You're not using 10.5.5, your version on the pic is 9G55 which is 10.5.6. Please check the Rosetta.

Type in terminal:

Code:
/usr/libexec/oah/translate

Mac OS X 10.7.2 11C40 - Vanilla kernel
Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G - Intel Q8300 - 4 GB Geil DDRIII 1333MHz
EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SC 1024 MB - Linksys WMP54GS PCI

*Diskeeper - You are very much correct.

*Nfoav8or - That explains the seatbelt issue. I dont know what I was thinking.

This does not change my mind about returning the machine however I will obviously run into problems in a month or two when I make my next purchase. Other than the seatbelt issue are there anything else you might recommend I look into. I will of course browse the forums and do some research on my own. Any kick start would be greatly appriciated.
