Via VT1828S Built-In Audio and AppleHDA
I built a new Intel machine to run Snow Leopard 10.6.x (see signature)
For days now I've been tinkering with patching the AppleHDA.kext to use with my Via VT1828S. So far I've done the HDEF DSDT patch (Built-in Audio in System Profiler now sees the hardware). But I've tried all the ways to patch AppleHDA to no success. I've also tried just using every version of VoodooHDA.kext and almost immediately when I add it to S/L/E I get a kernel panic and am forced to remove it (single user mode). Can anyone help me patch 10.6.2 AppleHDA.kext so that it can be used for my audio? I know a number of people using the P7P55D-LE board can also benefit from a working patch. Thank you and hope for a response. similar P55 VT1828S audio woes
Very similar motherboard (I have P7P55D-E Pro), same audio problem on my dual-boot system.
Have tried multi-beast kexts, same as this poster. NOTE: sound also broken on Win7Pro (64-bit) boot and can't fix there either. Specs attached.
