Question After upgrading to 10.5.7 no ports work

I installed Leopard through Boot-132. I went from 10.5(Disk) to 10.5.6 with all the ports working. But after upgrading to 10.5.7 through software update no ports work. I don't have any ports in the front, but the back ports don't work.

i guess you are referring to usb ports?
one thing i realized at some point was that usb was only recognized at bootup but not if i insert a usb drive at a running system.

one way to fix usb problems is using a system.kext matching your kernel. with a (voodoo) 10.5.5 kernel you need a 10.5.5 system.kext. reinstalling the kernel package (anv 10.5.6 for example) often installs the matching system.kext as well.

if you are on a vanilla install (boot-123?) you should check the other threads about 10.5.7, as i remember reading something about a new usb kext ...

I looked at some 10.5.7 threads and everyone seems to not have any issues. Do you have that kext?
