Airport likely won't turn on because it doesn't recognize your wifi adapter. Look into what's used in your laptop for wifi (eg. make and model).
If no drivers (kexts) ae available for your wifi, simply look for a USB wifi dongle OS X will appreciate easily. Google is your friend (except for the query keeping part). It's possible that the driver didn't get installed this time, then, either because it wasn't selected under Customize, or because you used a different distro which doesn't include the driver that made it work.

Quoted from Installer Log:
"localhost OSInstaller[132] Not loading AirPort MenuExtra because this machine does not have wireless networking available." Yet it's the same settings as when it did work. thanks for all your help, I'll just look into buying a USB card. Any suggestions for the card? Btw I have a broadcom wifi card, yet I don't have full info on it because I'm accesing the Internet from my iPhone. Laptop model is HP tx2500z. Thanks for everything. |

Airport Won't Turn on Hackintosh
I had the same problem, and it drove me crazy for days. Then I realized that the laptop had a button (next to the power button) for turning on the wireless antenna.
I had to turn it on, shut down and restart the computer, and then I was allowed to toggle Airport on from the icon. Search your laptop for a switch or button that powers on the wireless antenna. 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
