I have a system just like you; Dell Inspiron 531. I used iPC OSx86 10.5.6 universal PPF5 Final for my system and have two problem:
1) My system could not go to sleep.
2) Any optical drive (SATA) I put in could not read any media; It keeps telling me the media is blank.

Here's my selections:
- Kernel Voodoo 9.5.0
- Video NVdarwin 128MB (NVDIA GeForce 8300 GS (PCIe)
- Chipset AppleNForceATA nForce Drivers
- Audio ALC888
- Ethernet nForceLAN Driver
- AppleSMBIOSEFI fix

I'm hoping you could help me or tell me what fixes and patches you're using. Your help is greatly appreciated.
