Update Lawless PPC AMD Phenom 10.5.4

Hello. I've been a long time user at Insanelymac but, they haven't been very helpful at all so I decided I'd try somewhere new.

I've got LawlessPPC-Leo-10.5.4-Phenom&AMD installed on my computer. I was wondering how would I go about updating it to at least 10.5.6 or better yet 10.5.7 so I could run iLife '09.

Thanks for your help.

Try this method i posted earlier : http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/how-to...-5-6-to-t2980/

But remember, install voodoo 9.5.0 kernel ( system.kext will install along ) before it ( if you dont use it atm of course ). Restart your computer, and then begin the update as described in attached thread. Take notice that 10.5.5 introduced graphics updates do you'll have to delete/install anew all your gfx kexts after the update. I have made an update like this from 10.5.4 to 10.5.6, and then from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 and it worked with no problems, so it should work here as well.

To be sure, install this first : http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/

After restart you can go with the update as in the second thread.

Thumbs up Lawless PPC - OSX Now working on Phenom

After trying every other distro (Kalaway - Ideneb - iPC) all I have to say is:

SOLID! All I have to say. I have a HP Pavilion Phenom x4 (6gb RAM Nvidia 7800gtxll (Everything worked out-of-the box. Select ALx888 Audio (6 port w digital). Only issue I had was with the Network. I used the iPC install disk and selected only the Network driver for my box as soon as I did and Ran OSXPC Tools (Touch\Permissions) the network was detected.

The Good:

Solid Release - Easy to install - Chameleon boot for DVD (reccomend to keep around just for a good boot disk incase your MBR for any machine\OS get hosed. The Quad Core Phenom stock is exmrely fast on OSX I would close to a Mac Pro Quad Core . Key word Close. Same specs from the Apple Store would have set me back 2500. HP was only 499 + OSX (which I already own on a older G5)

Screen Savers perform very well no lag - movies \ dvd's play well. Most Apps work without issue. Photoshop\Dreameaver CS4 performs better then on Vista\XP no surprise there.

Bemhmarks coming soon

Only issue I am having is with a intermittent Kernel Panic. It seems isolated to either Entourage or VMWare Fusion. Might need to be patched with the AMD binary patcher?

Install Summary

1. Boot CD
2. Utilities - Disk - Partition (in my case 2nd drive) Mac /w Journaling
3. Customize Install Packages - All default except Audio ALx888 and Video NVidia)
4. Boot into OSX
5. No Network detected - put in IPC distro while OSX was running - mounted CDRom - Ran Install - deselected base - selected network driver specific my box..

Next up.. Update to Voodoo 9.5 (based on what I read it should fix my kernel panics that pop up in certain apps)
