So, is this dead? Even though the iMacs with 2600 cards in them work fine with QE/CI in Snow Leopard, we are just giving up on the hackintosh end?

I have a HD2400 PCI-e which doesn't have qe/ci under [edit]snowleo[/edit] either, so I'm in the same boat. It will, however, play some video with Quicktime player, but since there's no hardware acceleration it uses the CPU and isn't nearly as smooth as 10.5.8. VLC won't play anything at all, oddly. I can't afford a new card, so I guess I'm stuck with 10.5.8 until/unless some genius (netkas?) comes up with a solution. ;(

This thread is specifically Snow Leopard. You are in the wrong place.

Wow. You don't need to be rude about it. It is disappointing that a large number of people in the hackintosh community have to buy a new card to use Snow Leopard. No one is blaming any of the community developers for not fixing the problem, but the fact that there is very, very little out there to suggest that anyone is trying is a bit disheartening.

If I had the capability to help solve the problem, you can be sure I would be.

don't think this is news, ati hd2600 is supported, but no QE -> still slow

Just unterstood that the 2600XT on the imac work because they are Mobility Chips.
