Is there a guide available which will show me how to mount my drive, and disable the sleepenabler? If not, is there any chance that one of you would be kind enough to give me a quick step by step? I would really appreciate it.

thanks in advance

What I did was download the MacDrive demo, then just delete the kext from sys/lib/ext

Hope this helps!

Hi there. Thanks for your fast reply. Unfortunately, I am not dual booting my system, so I can't log into windows and then access the mac drive from another operating system.

All I have is access to terminal (after booting up from the install DVD), and as I mentioned, I am not proficient in using the terminal at all...

If anyone could help me I would be most grateful.

I updated successfully taking caution to remove the sleep enabler kext (that didn't work anyway) and everything still works fine and dandy except for my GMA X4500 graphics crad that used to work on 10.6.2.

  • 4gbs of RAM
  • Intel GMA X4500m graphics card
  • pentium dual core processor 2.20 ghz

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/****.kext

I did a fresh install (retail .mpkg way from ihackintosh.com) of snow leopard 10.6 and then installed MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.4.dmg update and it KP'd during "writing receipts" and I thought all was lost. . .

I then rebooted once which then rebooted by itself to finish updating and low and behold, it started up. . .

I then installed legacy_kernel-10.4.0.pkg which replaced the old modbin mach_kernel.test7 kernel and had to use an older IOUSBFamily.kext

all is well. . .so far

Hi, I've installed 10.6.4 Combo update but after restart I got this screen and everything stops. Tried verbose to see what is the problem but nothing happened. I think it's a kernel problem. I've backuped kernel via OSxTools and saved it before update, but how to take it back to where it should be?
