4. Basic patching to use a DSDT patcher .. I prefer DSDT Patcher GUI over DSDT Patcher, which run in terminal program. More specific patching you use iASLme.

6. No ... Macs don't need an DSDT

8. Yes, iASLme will make a file that you can edit.
