Snow Leopard on Dell Studio 1555

hi guys

ive managed to install snow leopard on a dell studio 1555

and its lovely

i did this by pretty simply using snowosx universal distro which
you should be able to find at the bay of pirates

i didnt boot with any flags i just simply pressed enter on the count down and enter again
on the install i erased my current installation of 10.5.8
and then contiuned with my installation and customised the install ticking all the boxes (tbh with you am not really sure what any of them are there no descriptions in this install but it will work with them all ticked)

to get the wireless working i used the bcm43xx_enabler.sh method which comes as part of the dell studio 1555 driver pack which u should be able to find on google if not reply asking for the link and ill find it

id screen shot but it isnt working!

ive installed the voodoo hda included with the install in Atools folder in applications

but its only given me digital audio out!
so no sound

i have no idea were to start with the graphics card!

erm gona try using voodoo battery and power for power

and well yea thats about it so far ill keep you guys updated!

oh and any input would be appreciated Thanks!

Snow Leopard on Dell Studio 1555

Hi!

I also got a Dell Studio 1555 and I want to have either 10.5.8 or 10.6.

Do you have to boot in safe mode (-x) or does it work wihout it?

And: Could you tell me how you installed 10.5.8?

Thanks!!

yea sure but to save me typing it all out

heres a link to the thread were i first did 10.5.8

http://www.infinitemac.com/f4/kext-i...-studio-t5036/

that will explain most of ur questions on how to install it just have a read throught there

theres also a link in there to a tutorial and driver pack for our computer!

and the first time u install either 10.5.8 or 10.6.0 u will have to start in safe mode

go into system/libary/extensions and delete a kext called atiradeonx2000.kext thats not exact because am not sure what its called but it will say ati and x2000 in the name :P then u can boot normally!

Hi!

Thanks for your reply.
Installing Kalyway is no problem for me, but I always kill my system when i update it.

Since now I tried two times updating with ideneb combo 10.5.7. Today I want to try out 10.5.8. Is there something special I got to choose or can I just install it?

And do I have to do something after updating?

My system doesn't even boot with -x.

Thanks for your help!
