Hi,

Like bronzovka says, the 11.3.0 Kernel doesn't seem to work with the 10.7.0 OS X that is used for Lion installation.

As I already wrote in the post you replied to, I used iAtkos L1 Distribution.
I have installed it from my Snow Leopard installation to a secondary harddisk (OSInstall.mpkg works in case of that distro), with just basic system only & installed latest meklort Chameleon + fakesmc

On 10.7.1 and above the 11.3.0 Kernel seems to work. :)

It is only 32 bit !

I try for 64 bit kernel - i need time !

where is the problem ? :(

@ $The-King$, have you tried using MacPro3,1? 5,1 has all kinds of power management features that may conflict. I also used mulit-beast for the bootloader and all the kexts. I updated even to 10.7.3 before even booting the system and it just booted up right way the first time.

teh_pwnerer 03-31-2012 09:04 PM

How do I use the modified kernel? I tried replacing the 'mach_kernel' on the root directory of an iATKOS 10.7.2 L2 with the modified kernel, but the computer reboots almost immediately after entering the bootflags in Chameleon. Am I doing something wrong? I have an AMD Athalon II X4.

Kernel 32 bit with model 5 .

sulphide 03-31-2012 10:33 PM

fx-8150, m5a97 mobo, 8 gig ram, everything is working fine, except qt and itunes and some apps closes, seems due to the old problem with syscall, sysret, sysenter, sysexit... ssse3 and upto avx extensions supported with fx processors.

finder is working ok

Huh, looks like your kernel doesn't work with my AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+, can you make it work for my cpu?

Here is my cpu-z output

Thanks in advance, dude, thanks for your hard work! :D

m28ew 04-01-2012 02:50 AM

an OOT question....

Has anyone had success accessing their iCloud ?

coz I keep getting this error message while logging into it

http://s16.postimage.org/kzxbymevp/error01a.gif

FYI,
I've tried to boot with:
npci=0x2000 EthernetBuiltIn=Yes PCIRootUID=1 (or PCIRootUID=0)

and I've even deleted these 2 files to get my wired interface at en0
- /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
- /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.identification.plist

http://s14.postimage.org/mh84kyqld/error01b.gif

My Apple ID (not a free one) is still valid and I can sign in to both the iTunes and the App Store

Any help would be appreciated :)

I guess the OSX LION doesn't support your nForce mobo (MoBo: MSI K9N2GM-FD, Chipset GeForce 8200 (MCP78))

Does your mobo have AHCI support ?

If not, have you tried to boot the LION with your current working old kext for Snow-Leo ?

Hmmmm, my mobo supports AHCI and BTW is enabled.
I've tried a modded iAtkos L2, UniBeast with the modded kernel and xMove.
Also, my cpu multiplier is 13.5, I thought that the busratio could be causing some trouble, I've typed busratio=135, and didn't helped either.

Maybe there're some kexts which aren't compatible with your hardwares
Have you tried to modify the S/L/E and also unpack the extensions.mkext to remove the uncompatible kexts and add the current working ones from Snow-Leo

If you have a spare partition,
you can try to install the lion from your current working Snow-Leo by running the OSInstall.mpkg

or you can try to install it on a VM (recommended: VirtualBox)

Ok, I will try with VirtualBox (I was trying with Parallels and I couldn't install it because of the license agreement)

And I will make a 8GB partition to dump Mac OS X Lion on it.

Thanks mate! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

None of the methods worked, same reboot when Starting Darwin X86 appeared :(

Looks like the problem is on the oldie AM2 processors, I see that the only cpus that are working are AM3 (Athlon II and greater)

$The-King$ 04-01-2012 06:34 PM

after three days of bad luck

after installing retail 10.6.3
mac refuses to update to 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 dmg
:P
i did new install after updating gfx card and bios of MB
and since this cant update to 10.6.7 to install 10.7

i think may it is from bootloader latest ver !!

any way i will stop tries till bronzovka
make the kernel works with install DVD hope he do it soon OR i will make more tries when i get free time

bronzovka hope you share kernel src with other developer so we can get the best kernel ;)

Godofwar 04-01-2012 06:56 PM

Hopefully Hazard makes a distro for Lion with Amd support. I'm kind of dumb and the only version of Mac I've gotten to work is Hazard Snow Leopard's version. Would be nice for me to update to Mac Lion because you know sooner or later Apple will stop giving software support for those of us on Snow Leopard.

Unrealized 04-01-2012 07:19 PM

Could someone create a boot cd? :) I don't have a working OSx86 system at the moment, so it would be really helpful.

About kernel sources, I think he has to release them because of the license if someone asks for them. And sharing is caring ;)

PookyMacMan 04-01-2012 08:47 PM

I am working on expanding the ModCD project to support all releases of OS X...I was actually waiting for other Lion kernels so that I can create a fully-compatible CD. :D

You are correct about the license. This is why people have problems with tonymac...he hasn't released any source code, violating the APSL license. Not saying that bronzovka is in the same class with tonymac, just giving an example of the licensing. ;)

I for one would like the source...I might be able to adapt the patch for older Intels as well. Nawcom previously stated that when experimenting with his AMD machine, it would stop after Got Boot Device. If I/nawcom can look at the source I/he/we might be able to apply this to more processors, and thus create a full legacy kernel supporting old Intels and AMDs alike. :)

Naman22 04-01-2012 09:20 PM

i have AMD 1090T

i have AMD 1090T and i wanted to test if lion 10.7 is working on my PC.
i have GTX 560Ti.I guess lion supports that.

but i have no clue from where to get the image and how to get bronzovka kernel to work.

Find out whether your AMD is a model 6, model 5, or model 2 and download the appropriate kernel.

shawnanastasio 04-02-2012 01:56 AM

Hello,
I am new to the forums, and made this account just for this thread. First, I would like to say thank you to the community for all your hard work porting 10.7 Lion to AMD processors. However, I have a similar problem to a few others and have not yet resolved it. I have an AMD Athlon II X4 635 Quad-Core Processor. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7232/processor.png

I downloaded this kernel for Model 5 Processors from a few pages back: http://www.mediafire.com/?oid59g1gl3oq34p

And i am using iAtkos L2 on a USB Flash Drive.

When i boot up with -v, i freeze here:

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/6...download1v.jpg

When i boot up with -legacy -v, i get a Kernel Panic:

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/547...downloadnn.jpg

Any help would be MUCH appreciated

Thanks,
Shawn

PookyMacMan 04-02-2012 02:56 AM

Apparently the kernel doesn't support installers...you'll have to install Lion from SL and then boot Lion with the kernel after it's installed.

Again, another reason to release source code...

shawnanastasio 04-02-2012 03:17 AM

Hmm..Thanks for your feedback. One more question; I have an iMac running 10.7, can i use the recovery partition to install to an external drive, and boot that drive on my AMD?

PookyMacMan 04-02-2012 05:19 AM

Yes you can. :)

I made an iBoot lion 10.7 installer on my Intel hac with the vanilla 10.7 app store dmg. Installed on my hac, onto a usb external HDD. Then I booted my Lion on my sata HDD, so that I can update the external HDD to 10.7.3, then ran muiltibeast selecting the External drive, selected what I thought I needed. Edited AHCI kexts so that the HDD would boot on my AMD machine, followed by replacing the kernel with the AMD one. I made sure that the org.chameleon.Boot.plist had "npci=0x3000 -legacy and -v" under kernel flags, disabled usekernelcache, otherwise it wouldn't boot. I then installed the HDD into my AMD machine and it booted right up with the exception of finder. I'm not sure if the recovery partition will work, but the app store dmg will no doubt.

Where do we find this? Can I update from Hazard 10.6.6i directly to Lion with the right kernel for my Amd Phenom II x965? Is gtx 480/470/460 drivers supported on Lion? I have a gtx 470. My GTX 560 Ti works with these: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-...01-driver.html just needs graphicsenabler=yes (GTX 470 should work as well)

I succesfully cloned my intel 10.7.3, changed kernel and patched with my pkgs. It boots with -legacy at the first time but applications like finder, Xcode, Apple Configurator, Utility AirPort don't work (Skype never worked for me). My cpu family is 16 and cpu model 10 (phenom II x6 1055T)

If you didn't notice earlier, use CPU-Z in Windows. :)

Use retail, distros are recipes for trouble.
