I compiled a 10.7.4 kernel with a mix of patches with R:A:W 's patches and the anv's legacy kernel 0.5.1 for on the fly patching, it boots up for x86_64 and i386 without instant reboot. but gives a kernel panic near where launchd would start up...
I'll upload it soon for you to test.. I doubt you'll get any further than the KP tho, interesting that I am the only one who made a kernel that didn't instantly reboot....

hello,

I just tested your kernel on my phenom x4 and x6 in unlocker, actually, it loads normally and then finished cpu panic without reboot, you hit the goal! good job, thank you to you.

If I could help you, I would not hesitate but I do not understand it in prog.

I have wonderfully working Lion 10.7.3 on my AMD Phenom II 965 x4. 32-bit only though, but no need to worry about crashing or random kernel panics, everything works. Finder from DP2.

I would like to compile a kernel on this configuration, is it possible?
I know XCode is a 64-bit app and can't be run on my 32-bit Lion, but is there some other way to compile. Is XCode really required, or does the kernel compile with only the Command Line Tools from Apple? I compiled my own 10.7.3 kernel from my Snow Leopard, but as far as I know, Snow Leopard isn't suitable for compiling 10.8 kernel?

I would just like to test the new 10.8 kernel and try to patch it for AMD.

While compiling on the SL 10.6.8, XCode 4.2 (Command Line Tools newest version, hacked it to install on SL :D):
Code:

bash-3.2# make
MIG default_pager_object.h
MIG clock.h
MIG clock_priv.h
/Developer/usr/bin/mig: line 217: 20320 Done                    "$C" -E -arch ${arch} ${cppflags} -I "${sourcedir}" "${iSysRootParm[@]}" "${temp}.c"
    20323 Illegal instruction    | "$M" "${migflags[@]}"
make[4]: *** [default_pager_object.h] Error 1
make[3]: *** [build_exporthdrs_mi] Error 2
make[2]: *** [build_exporthdrs_mi_default_pager] Error 2
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
/Developer/usr/bin/mig: line 217: 20303 Done                    "$C" -E -arch ${arch} ${cppflags} -I "${sourcedir}" "${iSysRootParm[@]}" "${temp}.c"
    20309 Illegal instruction    | "$M" "${migflags[@]}"
make[4]: *** [clock.h] Error 1
make[4]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
/Developer/usr/bin/mig: line 217: 20506 Done                    "$C" -E -arch ${arch} ${cppflags} -I "${sourcedir}" "${iSysRootParm[@]}" "${temp}.c"
    20509 Illegal instruction    | "$M" "${migflags[@]}"
make[4]: *** [clock_priv.h] Error 1
make[3]: *** [build_exporthdrs_mi] Error 2
make[2]: *** [build_exporthdrs_mi_mach] Error 2
make[1]: *** [build_exporthdrs_mi_osfmk] Error 2
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
make: *** [exporthdrs_mi] Error 2

So the MIG has a problem with the source I think, compiling from Lion would maybe fix this?

A Question

Ok guys. I am getting buldozer CPU is several days/weeks and i would like to ask... what exactly SSSE3/2/whatever :D does... And also... when i will have bulldozer and 64bit will work, everythings is gonna be as great as if i had intel??? And also, will the ALC892 driver tony has on his site work even though i have AMD what means different ids?

The Connactic 08-25-2012 02:05 AM

Yes, xmaniak! You'll have full 64-bit app support with a Buldozer CPU. Only the kernel will be 32-bit, therefore some hardware devices that relies only on 64-bit drivers (kexts) won't be usable. I don't remember any that falls in that category (and don't know nothing about Tony's ALC892).

I have an fx-6100 and tried ALC892 audio kext but it wasnt working for me. I installed VoodooHDA 0.2.72 instead using multibeast 4.6.1 though there are still some noisy sounds while playing.

:)

Let me thank you for the information ALC 892 chipset on Intel CM (win7), I try to understand why the CM AMD does not.

on my old Asus P8P67mpro ALC 892 audio working fine with patched AppleHDA.
I apply exactly the same method my Asus M5A97pro but wants nothing to do!

Here's what I like information about Mac OS X and Win7:

Delta, i'm very interested in the possibility of patching the Mountain Lion kernel so it runs on AMD machines. I opened a thread in Insanelymac forum about it: you're invited to post there about your own experiences, as i'm doing. Hopefully, we and whoever join us will help to spark a renewed interest for AMD hackintoshing. I'm an AMD stubborn, as said before.

Here's the link: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=281450

Which method did you use to try to patch the kernel from Command Line Tools? Which patches do you want to apply? Do you have a .diff file of these patches? How to apply it to the source; is it enough to put the diff at the same folder of the kernel and just enter "make" from Terminal? I'm not sure if i understood all steps. I have Lion 10.7.4 (on my AMD computer and on a MacBook Pro) and Mountain Lion (on my netbook), so i could try to repeat your experience from a proper instance, if you give me instructions how to do it.

Maaaan I tried soo many Patched VooDooHDA and AppleHDA and none worked... i have a very new mobo M5A99X EVO which i guess has newest realtek 892 audio... If you find a way to extract a DSDT from bios so i could add my Audio to the patched one(my patched DSDT did not include HDEF Device...)...maybe it would work...hovewer i see no other way...

I just had a brain wave... is it possible to run Internal Creative Sound Blaster VX in Lion???
Should theese work? http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/

If not could you point me to any other(best would be with 5.1 support) driver??? i suppose VooDooHDA doesnt work with non integrated card since its PCI isn it?
