Thank you very much for your time!
I didn't tried your method exactly, because i don't have an external HDD, but i used the kexts of your method. Now i made some progress and i am stuck in the "still waiting for root device".I tried with both IDE and AHCI settings (I have an MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard) in BIOS.
Maybe it's the kernels i have used so far? What's the right kernel for the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition?
Thanks a lot!

frisco2 06-18-2012 12:01 PM

Very Important! HFS partition still stuck in the first place your SATA connector on the motherboard. Recheck your BIOS settings with my information! I think this may be the cause of the error message

than boot with -legacy -force64 UserKernelCache=No -v -f or -legacy -force64 UserKernelCache=No -v -f arch=i386
good luck

:)

Hallo,

(32 Bit)

Aus Ihren Erfolg als 64-Bit, haben Sie noch die Anwendung zum Absturz?

Vielen Dank für Ihre Arbeit.

@frisco2,
I put the HDD (I have 3 partitions in this HDD. 1 with files, 1 with the 10.6.3 installed with chameleon and 1 with files) in the SATA 1 port of my motherboard and i checked again your settings for the BIOS (my motherboard doesn't have SATA 3 ports), but still the same result ("still waiting for root device"). I also disconected my Windows HDD, disconected the Snow Leopard HDD, tried with other kernels but still the same.:( What else i must check?

I very often use different bootloader versions (chameleon, boothink, cimira) crash unfortunately poor results with only 32-bit system and reboot. I did some research on an AMD boot loader, then I tried the boot loader of cparm + Andy (ARF). Same at the first boot was the most constant problems and 64-bit userland possible.

cpram bootloader is a modular system that rapidly and homogeneously with AMD. With boot flag:-legacy-kernel force64 user cache = no-v-f arch = i386 or-legacy-kernel force64 user cache = no-v-f arch = i386, it works! But be careful when installing. good luck, sorry for my bad English. My favorite language is German.

I'll try later 10.7.4 install without deleting the original finder with cpram bootloader. I'll report later if this works.

Thanks a lot for your time!!

I installed Lion 10.7.4 to my 8GB USB stick with the application myhack. When myhack finished, i copied the bronzovkAnVoodoo_0_9_26 mach kernel to the root of my USB stick and your 2 kexts (IOStorageFamily.kext and AppleFileSystemDriver.kext) to the System/Library/Extensions folder of the USB stick.

I will check the new link you gave me and i will post the results.

I proceeded according to this example (http://www.root86.org/entry.php/22-A...tloader-(cparm. You have the two zip files unzip down., And then move the folder "modules" to / Extra / then create the folder "i386" to "root" set. Then with the Chameleon Folder Wizard "i386" and looking in the folder "i386" is installed, the help file you need to read carefully

misterfrista 06-19-2012 11:16 AM

I think that the configuration is meant. I understand the ModuleHelp.txt but I have no idea where to put it.
In your tutorial there is an attachement org.chameleon.boot.plist which doesnt use the flags for the cparm bootloader?! For example there is GraphicsEnabler=Yes which is the normal chameleon flag but the modulehelp.txt says it has to be EnableGFXModule=Yes.

Can I simply modify my chameleon configuration und cparm autodetects the config file?

I´m from germany too, but i think many people dont understand it, if i ask in german!

Greetings

Unfortunately I have no idea with cparm and understanding how to use the "Modules" properly applies. ANV + Cparm maybe give information.
My org.chameleon.boot.plist I have not changed.
I would be glad if someone can give more input to cpram-bootloader.

frisco2 06-19-2012 11:38 AM

Yesterday I installed on my other partition, the "Modules" and the *. Diff from this page and I followed the instructions. Now, an error message comes at boot. see error message

http://osx86.co/f36/new-bootloader-f...178/page2.html

Yesterday I installed cparm bootloader on my other partition, now I get an error message on boot "Memory allocation error Addr: 0xfffff00, size = ...... Line .... This is a non recoverable error system HALTED! ! "..... . Now I must find the cause of the error

In this moment I can only boot with the Install DVD :-(

probably the GUI incorrectly?

The OSX disk utility I've started to repair the partition. It tells me I should format the partition. The OSX Disk Utility is very funny.

Then I started windows 7 and tried to fix the problem with MacDrive. It tells me it can not repair. MacDrive is great shit!

But I can boot with the install dvd lion10.7.4.
I am now also available online.
It works completely normal!

wastez 06-20-2012 08:01 AM

Can´t understand whats the problem with the cparm bootloader because it´s pretty simple.
Some flags changed a little bit but they are all in the ModuleHelp.txt.

A short guide how it works:
You just insert the modules you need. Every module which is inserted is active.
The symbol.dylib has to be used all the time if it is available for your version. (In the newest versions it is embedded)
Of course the bootflags will not work without the needed module.

Just tell me if somebody needs to know something else.

erineos 06-20-2012 11:06 AM

@frisco2,
Still the same. Maybe it's the bootloader i am using? I have used the bootloader of the myhack application, the Enoch-rev.1999 bootloader and i tried to install the cparm bootloader (i copied the boot file to the root of my USB stick), if i installed correctly, and it gave my restarts. How can i install and use the cparm bootloader? My motherboard's chipset is the SB750.

@wastez,
How can i install and use the cparm bootloader? My motherboard's chipset is the SB750, my CPU is AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition and i am trying to install 10.7.4. Also, which is the right kernel for my system and what kernel flags and kexts i must use? Thanks a lot for your time!

wastez 06-20-2012 01:17 PM

@ erineos
For AMD you have to compile it specially.
You have to enable "#define AMD_SUPPORT" in the cpu.c before compiling it!

If you want, i can upload a version where i´ve already done this, when i´m back from work.

If you want to install 10.7 you can take the kernel from this thread and if it is not working (like on my system) take the old one.
For installing it it would be enough to use the FakeSMC.kext and the NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
As flag you have to set -legacy (for 32 bit, because your CPU is not able to use SSSE3 instructions) and the rest belongs to your system.
For verbose mode use -v
If it´s not working with this few things you can try to enter busratio=xx and fsb=xxx too

frisco2 06-20-2012 02:09 PM

here, I have the information, how to install cparm properly.

http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/ch...arm/doc/README

What is it?
6 -----------
7
8 Chameleon is combination of various boot loader components. It is based
9 on David Elliott's fake EFI implementation added to Apple's boot-132
10 project. Chameleon is extended with the following key features:
11
12
13 Features
14 --------
15
16 - Device Property Injection via device-properties string in com.apple.Boot.plist
17 - hybrid boot0+boot1h loaders for both MBR and GPT partitioned disks.
18 - automatic FSB detection code even for recent AMD CPUs.
19 - Apple Software RAID support.
20 - stage2 loader (boot) can be placed as a regular file in the boot
21 partition's root folder.
22 - Modules
23
24
25 Installation
26 ============
27
28 Normal Install (non-RAID):
29 --------------------------
30
31 Suppose that your installation is on /dev/disk0s2
32
33 - Install boot0 to the MBR:
34 sudo ./fdisk440 -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0
35
36 - Install boot1h to the partition's bootsector:
37 sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2
38
39 - Install boot to the partition's root directory:
40 sudo cp boot /
41
42 - Install Symbols and modules to the partition's root directory or the partition's booter (if needed):
43 * Symbols.dylib is absolutely needed if you plan to use any other module,
44 * otherwise Symbols.dylib is useless, assume that /Extra is already created (if you need special permissions, use sudo)
45
46 mkdir /Extra/modules
47 cp Symbols.dylib /Extra/modules
48 cp "Any other module wanted".dylib /Extra/modules
49
50 No need to use startupfiletool anymore!
51
52 IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE MODULES: PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MODULES ARE NOT NECESSARILY NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED, YOU JUST HAVE TO INSTALL WHAT YOU NEED,
53 FOR EXAMPLE:
54 - IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO USE A RAMDISK (PREBOOT.DMG OR POSTBOOT.IMG), YOU WILL SURELY NOT NEED TO INSTALL THE RAMDISKLOADER MODULE,
55 - IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO BOOT FROM AN HIBERNATE IMAGE YOU WILL SURELY NOT NEED TO INSTALL THE HIBERNATEENABLER MODULE,
56 - IF YOUR MACHINE IS NOT A NETBOOK, YOU WILL SURELY NOT NEED TO INSTALL THE NETBOOKINSTALLER MODULE,
57 - IF YOU DON'T NEED TO PATCH THE KERNEL ON THE FLY, PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL THE KERNELPATCHER MODULE,
58 - ETC,ETC,ETC
59
60 PLEASE DO NOT USE ACPIPATCHER AND ACPICODEC TOGETHER, THEY DO THE SAME THING BUT IN A DIFFERENT WAY, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF THEM (ACPICODEC IS RECOMMENDED), THIS ISSUE WILL BE FIXED WITH THE BUNDLED MODULES
61 PLEASE DO NOT USE SMBIOSGETTERS AND SMBIOSPATCHER TOGETHER, THEY DO THE SAME THING BUT IN A DIFFERENT WAY, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF THEM (SMBIOSGETTERS IS RECOMMENDED), THIS ISSUE WILL BE FIXED WITH THE BUNDLED MODULES
62
63 HERE IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON USAGE:
64
65 - ACPICODEC (FOR ACPI FIXES, AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ALREADY PATCHED BIOS)
66 - GRAPGHICENABLER (IF YOU HAVE NOT FIXED THIS BY THE DSDT, THIS MODULE CAN ADD THE EFI STRING FOR YOUR GRAPHIC CARD)
67 - GUI (IF YOU WANT A GUI)
68 - KEYMAPPER (IF YOU WANT TO REMAP YOUR KEYBOARD (AN AZERTY PRESET IS AVAILABLE), SEE MODULEHELP.TXT FOR USAGE)
69 - SMBIOSGETTERS (FOR SMBIOS FIXES, AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ALREADY PATCHED BIOS)
70 - MEMORY (FOR RAM DETECTION, THIS MODULE IS ACTUALLY A PLUGIN FOR SMBIOSGETTERS OR SMBIOSPATCHER, AND IT WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT ONE OF THEM, IT WILL BE MORE CLEAR WITH THE BUNDLED MODULES)
71 - SYMBOLS IS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED IF YOU USE AT LEAST ONE OTHER MODULE
72
73 LAST THING, PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MODULES ARE ENABLED BY DEFAULT ONCE THEY ARE INSTALLED, THERE IS NO NEED TO ENABLE THEM BY AN OPTION BUT OF COURSE YOU CAN DISABLE A MODULE EVEN IF THE MODULE IS INSTALLED
74
75
76 RAID Install:
77 -------------
78
79 Suppose that your installation is on /dev/disk3, which is either a mirror- or a
80 stripeset consisting of /dev/disk0 and /dev/disk1
81
82 Mac OS X creates a small helper partition at the end of each RAID member disk,
83 namely /dev/disk0s3 and /dev/disk1s3
84
85 - Install boot0 to the MBR of both disks:
86 sudo ./fdisk440 -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0
87 sudo ./fdisk440 -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk1
88
89 - Install boot1h to the bootsector of each boot partition:
90 sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s3
91 sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk1s3
92
93 - Install boot to both helper partition's root directories.
94 diskutil mount disk0s3
95 cp boot /Volumes/Boot\ OSX
96 diskutil unmount disk0s3
97 ␉␉diskutil mount disk1s3␊
98 cp boot /Volumes/Boot\ OSX
99 diskutil unmount disk1s3

@wastez,
Thank you very much!!
Please upload it because i don't have the knowledge to do it.

@frisco2,
Thanks a lot!!
I will follow the instructions and i will get back with the results.

erineos 06-20-2012 02:36 PM

@frisco2,
In the first step i am getting "sudo: ./fdisk440: command not found"

wastez 06-20-2012 02:50 PM

@erineos
If the Binary is not installed you have to be in the folder which contains the fdisk440 file!
(Of course you can use full pathes too)

wastez 06-20-2012 03:02 PM

But if it is too complicated for you, you can use Chameleon Wizard:
http://www.osx86.net/view/2480-chame...%5Bnew%5D.html

erineos 06-20-2012 03:04 PM

Dear wastez,

I think i don't have the knowledge to do this. Could you please upload the file? Thanks a lot!

erineos 06-20-2012 03:10 PM

Thanks a lot wastez!!

I will try to install cparm with the Chameleon Wizard and i will post the results.

In my case I have a 2 TB HDD with Windows 7 on the other HDD I have only Mac OS X

Then I have to install to the MBR boot0md my Windows HDD. Very important, then activate the terminal:

code:

sudo-s
diskutil list (here you see the Windows and the Mac HDD listed)

LION is in my case 10.7.4 installed on / dev/disk1s2, then I have in the terminal "boot0md" install in the MBR of my Windows HDD disk0.

Register with sudo-s in Terminal

code:

sudo-u-y ./fdisk440-f boot0md / dev/rdisk0

Then I have to "boot1h" on the partition boot sector of the HDD install LION OSX (disk1s2).

sudo dd if = of = boot1h / dev/rdisk1s2
-
-
then you have the "boot" from the folder "i386" (cpram bootloader) installed in the root directory LION OSX.

sudo cp / boot

or by moving the mouse into the root directory

I have 2 HDD in my computer. The one HDD have the Windows 8 (3 partitions) and the other HDD have the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (3 partitions). I am trying to install the Lion 10.7.4 in one partition of the HDD which has the Snow Leopard in it.

erineos 06-20-2012 03:40 PM

I don't know what to say! Thanks a lot my friends for your effords to help me!!

I will follow the instractions and i will get back to you.

erineos 06-20-2012 07:12 PM

Good afternoon,

I installed the boot file manually (i put it to my root of the USB stick) and the boot0 and the boot0md with the Chameleon Wizard (i didn't manage to install them manually) to my Windows 8 HDD and to my Snow Leopard 10.6.3 HDD. I also made the USB stick from the start with the myHack, with no other kexts.
Now, with the new kernel of this topic, when i put the kernel flags -legacy -f -v, it restarts, when i put -legacy -f -v busratio=19 it also restarts and when i put -legacy -f -v busratio=19 fsb=206, i am getting kernel panic which says:
>>> The real-time clock was not properly initialized on your system!
.
.
.
panic (cpu 0 caller 0x2d384b): "rtclock_init panic" @ /users/mirko/Desktop/add_cpu_support/11_4_0_legacy/...
With the old kernel of this topic, with all kernel flags, it restarts.

felipeunix 06-20-2012 09:22 PM

lion 10.7.4 + kernel + patch bronzovkAnVoodoo_0_9_26 + amd_insn_patcher_src

Starting in 64bit perfectly without any error with 32bit application! excellent! :)

however, not allowed to almost nothing, not even to copy files, this happened after applying the patch.:mad:
Disk Utility does not recognize any device

Does anyone know how to solve this?

@erineos
Do you use cparm bootloader?
If you do try MaxBusRatio=xx instead of busratio

erineos 06-21-2012 04:38 PM

Yes, i am using cparm bootloader. I installed with the procedure i wrote few posts before (i don't know if i installed correctly).
MaxBusRatio=xx gave me restart.
I have know installed the two frisco2's kexts and another kernel and i am getting the "still waiting for root device". I changed from IDE to AHCI and vise versa, but still the same.

set in the BIOS "ON 1394 Function board" to [Disabled] is otherwise error-message. "waiting for root device"

erineos 06-21-2012 07:34 PM

I have changed it to Disabled but still the same.

Can you explain?

Since 1073 installed ...

1 - upgraded to 1074.
2 - put the kernel "bronzovkAnVoodoo_0_9_26"
3 - I applied the patch "amd_insn_patcher_src.zip"

So now I'm not even allowed to copy a file. And Disk Utility does not recognize the device any more. It really is very odd.

What did I do wrong? :'(

ps: but the applications were running smoothly both 32bit and 64bit:)

here are my BIOS settings for Gigabyte Motherboard GA-990-UD3 FXA

Intelligent Tweaker (MIT) ------> leave everything on default

Standard CMOS Features:

here must be the Lion HDD in the first place, if not then change the SATA cable.
The HDD's Windows on the second position, otherwise error message when you boot ----> AppleUSBOHCI ... still waiting for root device.l

Advanced BIOS Features:
AMD C1E [Disabled]!!! if Enabled then .... wait for root device!
Virtualization [Enabled]
AMD 8 Col & Q. [Auto]

Hard Disk Boot Priority under the LION HDD must be positioned in the first place

Integrated Peripherals

On-chip SATA Controller [Enabled]
On Chip SATA Type [Native IDE]
On-chip SATA 3.0 [Enabled]
F_USB30 Controller [Enabled]
SATA3 Controller [Enabled]
SATA3 Ctrl Mode [AHCI]
ON Board 1394 Function [Disabled] Enabled if it is error message: .... waiting for root device
------> Leave everything on default

then it should work:

flag boot:-legacy -force64 UserKernelCache=No -v -f or -legacy -force64 UserKernelCache=No -v -f arch = i386_x64

Good luck!

that's what I did, then the problems were gone

take this >>>> http://osx86.co/f36/legacy-kernel-10...post55947.html

amd_ins_patcher_src.zip ( IOHIDFamily nintervalcheck.kext.zip --> S/L/E )

and use the How-To by AkimoA (root86.org)

AMD binary patching!

Unzip the file'm amd_insn_patcher and copy it to
/usr/bin

then open the Terminal

Then you give the command:

code:

sudo-s
amd_insn_patcher / usr / lib / libSystem.B.dylib / usr / lib / libSystem.B.dylib.patched
mv / usr / lib / libSystem.B.dylib.patched / usr / lib / libSystem.B.dylib

amd_insn_patcher / usr / lib / dyld / usr / lib / dyld.patched
mv / usr / lib / dyld.patched / usr / lib / dyld

amd_insn_patcher
mv

amd_insn_patcher / System / Library / QuickTime / QuickTimeComponents.component / Contents / MacOS / QuickTime Components / System / Library / QuickTime / QuickTimeComponents.component / Contents / MacOS / QuickTimeComponents.patched
mv / System / Library / QuickTime / QuickTimeComponents.component / Contents / MacOS / QuickTimeComponents.patched / System / Library / QuickTime / QuickTimeComponents.component / Contents / MacOS / QuickTime Components

amd_insn_patcher / System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeH264.component/Contents/Resources/QuickTimeH264.scalar / System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeH264.component/Contents/Resources/QuickTimeH264.scalar.patched
mv / System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeH264.component/Contents/Resources/QuickTimeH264.scalar.patched / System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeH264.component/Contents/Resources/QuickTimeH264.scalar

Then the repair permissions and re-enter the following in the terminal.
code:
sudo update_dyld_shared_cache

erineos 06-22-2012 10:32 AM

Here is my PC specs:

AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition
MSI 790FX-GD70
8GB Super Talent DDR3 1600MHz
2TB Western Digital Caviar Green SATA II
350GB Samsung SATA II
ATI Radeon HD 5450
ASUS Xonar D2X
Sony/Nec Optiarc DVD-RW SATA II.

A few lines before the "still waiting for root device", it writes something like that: "couldn't alloc IOUSBMassStorageClass". Maybe it's this kext?

@erineos
Normaly the system stocks on this point if the used harddisk is not on sata1 port.

I think so too

frisco2 06-22-2012 12:14 PM

I will install today ComboUbdate 10.7.5, then I report

erineos 06-22-2012 03:53 PM

Good afternoon,

My Snow Leopard HDD (where i would like to install Lion) is in the SATA 1 port.
From a search in the net i found that probably it's the SB750 southbridge that causing the problem and it can't see any SATA ports. I found that an IOATAfamily.kext for SB700/750 for Lion, it may resolve the "still waiting for root device". What do you think? Is this kext available or we can specially make it?
