How to active Java VM 64-bit in Snow Leopard?
Hi everyone,
I have an issue that Applications > Utilities > Java References says that my system has installed a 32-bit Java Virtual Machine so I understand I cannot run eclipse in 64-bit mode How do I active 64-bit Java VM in Snow Leopard 10.6.2 ? I googled this issue but I didn't found a solution? What's about your system? does it show 32 or 64 bit JVM ? 10.6.2 Pcj 64-bit kernel | Mobo Asus P5LD2-VM Revision 1.03 945G/ICH7 Graphic Intel GMA950 | CPU Pentium 4 630 3 GHz HT Sleep never wake up, Quicktime 64-bit crashed 10.6.2 Vanilla | Mobo GigaByte GA-EP43T-UD3L | CPU C2D E7500 | GPU GigaByte GV-N240D3-1GI Nvidia GT240 ( Full QE/CI ) |

Mine shows both 32-Bit and 64-Bit - running 10.6.2 / 32-Bit (Vanilla) Kernel & Extensions.
I guess it's related to your CPU as non Vanilla systems do not activate the 64-bit adressing feature by default - you can try if it works, when using the quoopz Kernel with the -force64 bootflag. Thank you Imkantus for your reply, SL detects a Intel Core 2 Solo, but my PC is P4 630 3GHz Hyper Threading, and yes, my hack cannot run Vanilla kernel, I tried quoopz with -force64 but my hack still 32-bit, I'm currently use a kernel from pcj and it actived 64-bit kernels + kexts, however Java VM still not offer 64-bit Perhaps I should fake my hack has Core 2 Duo not Core 2 Solo, but do not know how?
On Leopard 10.5.8, Java VM has 32+64-bit.
