I use the anvalv boot loader myself.
I guess it depends on the hardware wether it works or not... For those who are wondering: I use the following one (latest) http://rapidshare.com/files/433917787/boot.zip Last edited by andyvand; 11-29-2010 at 07:51 PM. |

First of all great work to every one,
I have been able to boot the 64 kernel on my machine (wow!) ![]() I have an issue I hope someone can help me with. I have a NVidia 8500 GT and it's not working properly. Using GraphicEnabler=yes I get a black screen every now and then and some colored lines poping all around. But then with the previous kernel 10.6.5 it started working fine. But with the last release it broke again ![]() It is basically very annoying but you can still do some work on it. I did search for it a while a go but couldn't find anything useful. Since it seems to be kernel related perhaps someone can shed some light. By the way with the 64 kernel it works much better with minimal issues (but then my network driver breaks ![]() Thx |

Sadly on my AMD Phenom II x4,
it panics randomly even in 32-bits mode (booting with arch=i386 ; either with/without -force64) Warning: invalid kernel IP, wont attempt to handle trap ![]() |

A big thanx to Andy and all of the people included in this project. Kernel is excelent.
Almoust a year ago I gave up from SL on my AMD machine (GA MA-790X UD4P, AMD Phenom II X2 550, 8 Gb DDR2 667 RAM, ATI HD 3850), but I gave it a try few days ago and it was a succsses ![]() I installed 10.6.3 SL from .dmg on my 10.5.6 installation, put a few kexts in S/L/E and E/E folders, dsdt, newest chameleon, and PCI EFI and this kernel, and I'm able to boot in safe mode. Updated to 10.6.5 and I'm stuck again with safe mode (I guess due to VGA). There are few more problems that are not related with the kernel that I need to solve: 1. BIOS resets - DSDT needs RTC patching (shouldn't be a problem). 2. USB mass storage devices not working, although USB mouse works perfectly (a saw a fix floating around OSX86 forums) 3. Audio doesnt work on Realtek ALC889A (there are a lot of kexts, I need to tryout) 4. Upon start up I need to plug out and plug in PS2 keyboard in order to work. 5. My VGA doesnt work with QE/CI in SL, will have to buy a new one. I can only boot to safe mode, upon the normal boot I get stuck with a black screen. I have a question about the kernel: I installed it after 10.6.5 combo update froma pkg installer. What do I need to patch and how? I was out of a OSX86 SL for a while, I'm a bit rusty ![]() Andy, good luck with developing a on the fly patcher for the kernel ![]() GA MA-790X UD4P, AMD Phenom II X2 550 8 Gb DDR2 667 RAM, ATI HD 3850 WD 640 Gb, Seagate 320 GB Win XP 64bit & OSX 10.5.5 |

Wtf
I solved the usb problem using USB kexts from 10.6.2 but when connecting some usb device like a pendrive, in a while the whole system lags.
