10.6.2 with VT1708B audio - not working

Hello, I have installed Mac OSX 10.6.2 and managed to figure out almost everything that I need.

My huge problem is how do I make the audio work. VodooHDA 0.2.2 doesn't work, not even kernel panic, AppleHDA does the same. Azalia is reported not to work with this chipset. and I found posts in which people say that with the exact mobo that I have VoodooHDA worked right out of the box. I'm clueless...

I used the KEXT HELPER to install the kexts and it isn't working, I have the linux codec dump, I found a tutorial(very ambiguous) on how to convert the dump in hex and somehow build a new driver but the tutorial was very ambiguous and many things were missing.

Can Someone point me in the right direction with this? Is the chipset supported? How can I build a driver from that dump, google is my friend and so far I haven't find a working method, maybe I don't search after the right keywords or smt, dunno.

Thanks, ARTHUR.

Just tryed the VoodooHDA from your link, it doesn't give any input, with the one from my link you'll have Mic-input.

I also have a windows 7 on my other hdd, and although I reseted to default all the BIOS settings, the audio won't work in windows 7 now... the only thing available in W7 is HMDI Audio.

So apparently I physically broke me external codec in all my attempts(if that's even possible), that is just great!

I am using it with the following BIOS Settings:

External Codec only (VT1703B)
Front Panel set to HD Audio (the other option is AC97)

and it panics all the way, I am trying to use it in paraller with HDAenabler.kext, mayba iut'll work.

I see that this version of VoodooHDA is 0.2.51, why that on Voodoo's page the last is since 2007 and it's 0.2.2?

EDIT: regarding HDAEnabler now I see, "Inject audio Layouts in conjucntion with modded AppleHDA"

I can't find on google a clear tutorial on how to mod AppleHDA with my codec dump. I turn my dump into HEX but I can't just drop it inside <strings> values like with apple.com.boot.plist. I saw in some AppleHDA's that the HEX code is very short, the hex code from my dump is extremely long.

There is this tutorial : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=127227

Step 2 and 3 are completely ambiguous to me ... can't make anything of them, I read it like for 2 hours, what am I missing?
