Will my rig run ?

Hi,
First of all I would like to appologize if I have posted in the wrong section of the forum. I have found this section is most suited to my problem.

Now on to my question,
Well I just got my new rig, the specs are on my signature. Problem is I have learned that Hackintosh runs on Intel am I right? And I'm a AMD user.
Also, I'm a 64 bit user. Not sure if that's going to work too.

Also, If you would be kind enough, If you see a tutorial on 64bit/AMD hackintosh please tell me. I might ask alot of questions. Cause..I AM 14.

I got the downlaod from hazard's site
Any more steps? I plan on following
http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to...tart-to-finish
on installing. What do you think?

In the future, please try not to post torrent sites.

And that lifehacker guide might not be the thing to follow, as it is for intel.

Usually distros are more hit and miss. Install on clean partition/drive, select what seems best, if it fails reformat and try again. Each time, take notes of what you changed. What I mean by this, is the install will have different options. Rule of thumb is to install with the least necessary to get into booting, and fill in the rest after the install.

Well a distribution is an easier way. All you do is write the image to a dvd and boot it up. Then, you install it and you're basically done.

So once you have a partition, you'll boot up the dvd, and then look for disk utilities in the menu bar. You'll probably want to format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Then you go on with the installation and hit customize then choose what works for your machine. It may take a few times, but it is worth it.

Hi illuminarias,

Welcome to InfiniteMac board and enjoy your stay here.

Regarding torrent links and things like that it is always important to read the forum rules but most of the people just skip that part. Did you take a quick look ;-)

Ok, back to your rig. All you need is just the distro. Its creator (definitely) included the bootloader through the install options. Sometimes even several bootloaders are there so you can pick the one you want. Note spalek83's post, very well explained in short, and very much true.
Before selecting the distro you'd like to try, its always good to consult the osx86 wiki, this forum, other forums about your motherboard compatibility, the processor etc. Try to find out the chipset your mobo is based on as its very important for selecting the right option for controllers (sata/ide drives). Again, note spale83's post. Try to select only the required options while customizing the installer, try to minimize it. Pick only those things you're sure you need them. Everything can be added later. Make sure to select the right combination and you can boot it after installing and reach the desktop. Once there it will be much easier to add other required stuff, tweak the system some more. There are lots of guys willing to help over here and you'll be leaded all the way to nice and stable working rig.

Good luck dude ;-)

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Since I don't have a DVD with me now, I shall try the vmware with it.

"Voodoo rtclock_init panic @/voodooKernel/xnu-1288.7/osfmk/i386/commpage/commpage.c:425
Debugger called : <panic>

And I'm lazy to copy the others. Any idea why?

Im pretty sure that VMWare can't virtualize OS X without help..

If you have an extra 8GB flashdrive? you could just burn it to that.

And you will HAVE to format it as Mac OS Journaled(Extended)
