I don't understand why all people thank JaS so much. His 10.4.5 and 10.4.6 images weren't good (I used myzars which were much better) and he brought us the Disk Utility bug since 10.4.8. I talked to him in irc and he doesn't stand a bit of critics or listens to tips - in opposite to Zephyroth or the others which do the work for the forum, like Puttabong or R0GUE. It sounds strange to me that JaS is helping someone else, that's not his style, he always makes his own stuff normally.

eddie11c image + Zephyroth's AMD updater = 10.5.3
Zephyroth regards much more credits than JaS. His AMD Updater was unique, but a lot of people were making images. And JaS' images were not the best ones. I can compare because I tested about different 20-30 images. One Tiger which is rather unknown but very good is myzars 10.4.6. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. Eh keep it cool guys ... There are a lot of other things than MacOS or computers thus there's no need to fight here ...
And Naquaada did not said that I'm better than everybody else. He just said that, maybe I more easily accomodate criticisms and/or consultings than some other people ... That's all. Hm, If I compare Zephyroth's images to edie11c's I must say that Zephyroth's installation DVD looks better and the optional installation menu for drivers etc. is great. But this installation had some problems. The Toast problem several people noticed, the Video DVD image didn't noticed the most here I presume. Eddie11c's installation DVD was not so good, not the original Apple wallpaper, more options which made it the installation more complicated and 3rd-party applications, which is always a reason for oppositite meanings. But the installed system had not the problems of zephyroths. I'm using it now, updated to 10.5.3 using Zephyroth's Updater. But actually I found new problems: The DivX codec settings in Quicktime are crashing, and the installation of Xcode crashes and kills the system. This I have to check out.
Zephyroth's AMD Updater IS definetively something new. How long did it took since we AMD users got the new update? Weeks, months, was it from the same guy who made your installation image, will it work? Now 10.5.3 was out, and about 2 days later the AMD update was available. This wasn't possible all the years before. For this Zephyroth deserves a very big credit and - I would go so far - an entry in the OSx86 Hall of Fame. But I agree with Zephyroth - let's quit this talking now. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. I have installed this release on my Toshiba Pentium 4 laptop but it will not boot into the setup screen after the install, it keeps looping to the bios. Have anyone experienced this, or have any suggestions?
Thanks, |

@talkingmonkey, thanks for confirming.
But this ppf (confirmed from leo4all forum) isn't good. new ISO after patching is not usable. It has to be fixed or just use Zephyrot's Updater. 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. ![]() |
