It appears the 9.3 modbin kernel and System.kext from kalyway's combo updater for 10.5.3 works on AMD machines in case anyone is interested. I'm running them now on 10.5.2. You can just use the kernel installer from kalyway's combo update to install it.

You can update to 10.5.3 with kalyways combo and a pack of decrypts that are in the insanelymac forum.

two comments about that post in IM:

1. the cpuids file has the wrong paths in it, so you should fix them before you apply.

2. the decrypts come with a translate binary, which may or may not be needed?
zephyroth:If eddie11c is reading me he must known that finally "translate" do not have to be patched to work correctly.
In fact, the fix for WOW is the original "translate" so my app don't try to patch it. Normally, its the same for all previous versions of translate, even if Marvin's detect cpuid and want to decrypt it.

I followed this post:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=765082

Only difference is I didn't use Marvin, I used the pack arkkeeper is linking. I guess it would have worked the same with Marvin.

Update: no need anymore, Zephyroth's Update utility is working perfectly for me now.

Where can i get the 9.3 modbin kernel?
How to install the kernel?
I have a notebook (HP-NX6325) with AMD CPU and work fine with kernel 9.2.2

jojo go here http://leo4all.uni.cc/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=61 to download the kernel. Just run the pkg installer to install it but make sure you choose the modbin kernel.

This kernel works flawlessly on my system! We are hitting another milestone in the osx86 community. - Cheers

After applying this kernel my CPU is shown as single core....any help ?

It is just showing so, actually there are two cores and both of them are working fine. Fire up Activity Monitor and check it out;-) only reading related, no big deal at all.

it's easy to patch the Activity Monitor for AMD: Make a backup of it, open the package contents and go into Contents/Resources/<yourlanguage>.lproj. Open 'Localizable.strings' with TextEdit and search for 'Intel'. You'll find two occurences:

/* Name of intel architecture */
"Intel" = "Intel"

The second part is for 64bit. Now replace the lines that it looks like this:

"Intel" = " AMD"

Use two spaces before the AMD, it looks better. Here's an example:

But I didn't found the place in the Finder yet.

If you launch Activity Monitor you will see that both cores are working (you should see 2 processor bars). This same problem appeared for some in the 9.2.2 kernel and is merely System Profiler misreporting the number of cores. Don't worry they are both still working.
