Ok after having a nice working 9850 Phenom install of 10.5.2 i tried to put efi on only to find out that EFI wont work on phenoms. No if I'm right certain kernels are wrote for efi (correct me if im wrong). So any phenom users out there what kernels are you running.

Thanx in advance

EFI is installed on my system with a modified kernel (9.2), I tried with every kernel you can found on the net and it works with EFI.
The kernels you referred to must be the vanilla kernel (unmodified) but it works only for Intel cpus.

there are non efi kernels out there i have all of them backed up if you need them
but you have to install leopard with out efi to make them work

As far as I know every kernel works with or without EFI, but you must take care about AppleACPIPlatform which can be original if you use EFI but modified if you system is non-EFI.

last kernel i used was modbin 9.2 for amd (32bit!!!!) everything was running fine. Then when I tried to install efi it broke the whole lot. So what are the recommendations. My idea scenario is efi with latest kernel which is the best way to go about that.

you can't have efi on phenom systems
that is why it messed up
to beable to install leopard on your system you have to install it with out efi and don't install efi after you install leopard

bhast thats what i thought and found out to my cost. I thought thats the reason why the other dvds rebooted due to the efi.
So blast which kernel would you recommend. By the way what are your specs
