Hello, I tried to install Kalyway 10.5.2 on my HP Pavillion DV9627Cl. The CD loads to the installer screen but it does not find a hard drive. I tried formating to FAT32 with no luck. I even left the space unallocated (deleted the hard drive on Vista) and still no luck. The hard drive I wish to install it on is 80 gigs; this is what info I get of it in computer management. If you need more info to help me, please reply and I will get that info to you. Please though, put the name of the program to use or a link to it, and I will gladly download it.
Also, I don't know if this will help but when I run the disc it comes up with the following error.
<code>CODE SIGNING: cd_invalid_page: P= 41[Configd] clearing CS_VALID</code>
Specs:
* HP Pavilllion DV9627Cl
* OS: Vista Home Premium and hopefully Kalyway 10.5.2 when I get it working
* AMD Turion 64 X2 Movile TL-58
* Mainboard: Quanta 30D1
* Chipset/Southbridge: NVIDIA
* BIOS: HP F.07 (8/9/2007)
* RAM: Samsung DDR2 2048 MBytes

Thanks for all help in advanced.

you'll have to install it on vm, search for some guides, OR on an external harddrive. It must be a sata issue or something

Is there a way for me to inject the .kext into the .iso, so then it will be able to recognize the drive? I have all the .kext for kalyway off of rapidshare; I just need to know how to put them in the .iso.

Hi Motoxcreature,

Take a look here:

http://www.infinitemac.com/how-to-inject-kexts-into-leopard-dvd/

Crawle's post at the bottom may be an easier option if you have TransMac.

you have put its nvidia chipset may be more helpfull if you could put which chipset it is EG NForce4 or NForce3 etc as this is the very item you are needing support for.
If its Nforce4 I can recommend Zephy's 10.5.2 rev 2 iso

Where would I install this? In the same extensions.mkext where I was installing the others? And this is all that I need for support with kalyway?
Thank you, I will try this and get back to you and tell you if it works or not.

go to this link ive uploaded for you

http://rapidshare.com/files/125501872/Archive.zip.html

extract and then just mirror the contents of these folders to yours if you can.

Failing that just use the kext in extensions. but boot with -v -f then run the other pkg file you already have

Hope this helps

LawlessPPC, thanks for all the help. I decided to download Zephyroth and see if that works. If it doesn't, well, I'll try what you have here for me. I just can't waist that many more DVDs.

Thanks for all the help though,

get 1 of the 20x liteons check my user details it tells you which model and it wont cost more than £20. A note tho always make sure you do the latest firmware update when you get 1 as this usually is just to improve compatibilty with media.

OK, I finally downloaded and burned Zephyroth 10.5.2 AMD-EFI but it is worse than Kalyway. Kalyway used to see my disk drive with the Kalyway CD and Zephyroth does not see anything at all. I tried leaving it as NTFS, and I converted it to FAT32 and I also left it unallocated.

Can someone please help me? What am I doing wrong with it?

EDIT: If anyone can reccomend where i can get the latest version of Zephyroth, please PM me the link. I can't seem to find 10.5.2 rev.2

I did and I downloaded a file named as leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI-Rev2 and it came up stating "still waiting for root device". Is this an incompatibility issue or a burning issue?

motoxcreature:I did and I downloaded a file named as leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI-Rev2 and it came up stating "still waiting for root device". Is this an incompatibility issue or a burning issue?That normally means your main chipset isn't supported properly (could be the release, could be your chipset just isn't supported in OSX, could be the way you have your drives arranged, could be the cycle of the moon...). Start searching - "still waiting" is probably the number ONE install issue... Could also be: you need to list all of your hardware to get really meaningful help (oh, wait, I think I said that somewhere else)...

Dude, laptops are tough, AMD laptops are even tougher. Your best bet will be to find someone with a similar lappy and see what can be made to work - and what can't... Either way, laptop installs generally require more work and don't always end in success.

Ageed. You generally have to make your own distro for the laptop itself (unless you are lucky enough to find a BROAD installer packed with the ability to fulfill your Hardware compatibility needs).
