Mercurysquad is in serious need of people that have AMD processors, he's the one that's working very hard on the new voodoo kernel. And he needs you're help to make the new kernel work on AMD, there even is a possibility that 64 bit is going to work for AMD!
If you do wan't to help, download the alpha11 10.5 kernel here: http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/
And repair the permissions (i named it voodoo_alpha11):
sudo chmod 644 voodoo_alpha11 && sudo chown root:wheel voodoo_alpha11
Then place it on the root of you're harddisk, reboot you're pc and use this as bootflag: voodoo_alpha11 -v
If you're system doesnt start with the kernel report here why not
If it does work you need to download this, http://xnu-dev.googlecode.com/files/cpuid.kext.zip
And place it on you're desktop or something, not you're extensions folder. Type these commands
sudo chown -R root:wheel cpuid.kext
sudo chmod -R 755 cpuid.kext
sudo kextload cpuid.kext
and then
sudo dmesg | grep CPUID
And post the MSR value and you're FSB and CPU frequency and tell whether kernel alpha11 works fine on your system (ie. no audio stuttering etc.) here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=126896&st=80
After that you can unload the kext by doing, sudo kextunload cpuid.kext
So please help to make the kernel even better! :D
Any other info needed is available here: http://groups.google.com/group/xnu-dev/web/home
