I was wondering if anyone knew how to add the PPC install files back on to an install disk. I got my hands on a free Mac running Tiger on a G4 and I know it will run Leopard. I was just wondering if anyone knew how/had the files needed. thanks for any help!

Why would you want to use some hacked OS when you can use a clean copy?

And I'm not sure what disk you want to use, but have you tried it yet?

I don't think anything is actually removed that would prevent installing on PPC, I'm probably way off but I was under the impression that the OS was universal, from the kernel on up.

I am installing Leopard to an iBook G4 12" model right now and am happy to report that it works fine. nothing extra needed.

NOTE: I AM installing from a RETAIL Leopard disc that I purchased, therefore it is universal.

I am planning on buying a retail copy but I wanted to make sure it worked before going out and spending the money. I can't get it to boot even though I have done the coding for it to meet minimum requirements. I just wondered if the PPC side of things was taken off of most ditros to save space as a retail copy is Dual Layer. Just wondering. By the way, how much ram does your 12" iBook have? I have a 12" with only 256MB but an 800MHz CPU.

I have installed Leopard on a 450MHz G4 Cube :-)
I'm also hoping someone will hack the PPC-Version to run on non-Apple PowerPC hardware in future :-)

Tiger run on a POWER5 aswell. It's a modified version and ist inofficial :-)
Just for fun ;-)
and no, it's not my Server ;-)

I have the standard 256MB but I have also added an extra 1GB chip.
