Hello 2 weeks age i decided to try to set up leopard on my pc.i didnt post anything tried to do it reading other users experiences but no luck.
So this is my fist post seeking help on how to set up kalyway 10.5.1.

first my pc is.
MSI p35 platinum (with moded bios 1.8 from osrom.net)
CPU E6750 core 2 duo
and ge force 9600 gt (i know the card is not supported)
HD i have one SATA on sata 3 slot(no SATA1 exists on mainboard)
DVD IDE master on the only IDE slot.

i read in the forum about some settings to todo in the bios and here are they:
MPS Table =1.4
IOAPIC=Enable
ACPI=S3
HPET=Enabled
EIST=Disabled
Execute bit=Enabled
AHCI= Enable

so i boot from the dvd boot with -v to see if errors occur and the proccess is completed with no errors.
but it got stuck at:"still waiting for root device" i placed the dvd as master disabled the lan and 1394 and past it but after that i got stuck
at the apple loading screen and after a while a white box appears with a forbid sign and nothing happens.
Could anyone give any guides on what to do ???

Thanks in advance.

If you can see the apple loading screen then you haven't booted with -v.

Generally the forbid sign means that it's still waiting for the root device. Can you boot with -v and confirm?

If it is, take a look here (http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/possible-solutions-for-still-waiting-for-root-device-t1467/) for some possible solutions.

i just wanted to ask if im doing something wrong.
Is it ok to use an ide hard drive?
are my bios settings correct?
i only have on my mainboard 1 ide slot and my dvd is ide is that a problem?
i read somewhere tha the sata hd must be in sata 1. is that correct?
my SATAs begin from sata 3.
i just want to clarify these things.

thank you:)

Yep, IDE is supported - probably more so than SATA
I think they look fine, real macs use AHCI so it's probably best to leave that on unless it causes problems.
Not sure, someone else might be able to answer that
