I recently purchased a Velocity Micro e2240 and it will be delivered this week. This system comes w/ the Intel Quad 2.4 Q6600 processor on an Asus P5N-E SLI w/ the NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI chipset. Video SLi support as well (8800gts 320mb). I have done some research and have read that there is not full support for the 650i boards as well as no support for the SLI feature.

I also have a new Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mo board that could replace the current board mentioned above. Again, I have read that there is more support for this board for the OS X86 installs. However, does not have the SLI capabilities.

What are your experiences w/ these boards? Am I able to get the Asus P5N - motherboard up and running and if so, will all of its performance capabilities be supported through patching?

Which board would you use?

thanks

- Just a note, I currently have an AMD OS X86 system running, but am switching to Intel. I just don't have as much experience, knowledge on the intel side of this process.

hi crencom,

Don't know which motherboard fits best to you, but I'd prefer the Gigabyte one. I've had two Gigabyte products in my old Computer and, contrary to an old Asus board, never got problems with them.
imo SLI isn't that important at all on OSX, because there aren't so much GPU-heavy apps (expecting X-Plane on highest details where my MBP sounds like the Ingame-Airplanes) ;)

greetings
