For any of you (and me) who had the problem that Toast or other programs crashed when 4 GB RAM are used, try the new 64bit adapted ATA/SATA (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=127611) drivers. There are also patched versions of AppleVIAATA.kext and JMicronATA.kext.
For me it worked great. I filled my memory with various programs so that 3,79 GB RAM were allocated. Then I started Toast and wrote a 7.62 GB image in 2:45 mins. With the old nForce driver it already crashed at 800-900 MB.
