hi,
new to this forum and new to the hackintosh world. but real exited about it.
ive got a windows machine running with a GA-Ep35-DS3 board in it.
found this link with instructions
http://www.gadgetted.com/?p=573
What will happen to my windows setup if i change the bios on my system?
can i still be using my windows or will changing the bios break my windows system?
Can i install Leopard on the same machine or should i better install osx on a seperate machine.
i really like to give it a shot since it seems like i have the right parts in my machine allready.
(GA-ep-ds3 board, q6600 quadcore, gigabyte 8600gt 256mb, 4 gig ram , 2x sata western digital 500gb)
thanks

the guide on the original page tells you not to update the bios. I would recommend using a separate HD to install this to if it is your first time doing so. When the install is complete, simply choose the disk (using your bios) to boot to. There are other methods out there but I'd recommend this since you won't have to worry about messing up your Windows system... eventually you can find the ways to get around this and install to the same HD without worrying about losing data.

I think you got it wrong. You don't have to flash/update your BIOS though having the latest bios version is recommended. You will have to adjust the bios settings as explained in the tutorial.

Sure, your question is ok. You'll modify and adjust your bios settings for better osx performance but it won't ruin it or your windows installations. So, in any case you're good ;-) So good luck installing osx and welcome aboard ;-)

great,
i hardly cant believe it would work and be stable. But reading this forum it is possible for sure.
my pc is allready there and up for it. i hope :)
@milanca
youve got exactly the same setup as mine , i see.!
q6600, p35 ds3 etc.
What route did you follow to install osx 10.5.5?

I installed mine from retail osx 10.5.4 dvd. But that's a bit advanced installation method. I mean it is not tough or hard at all just requires a bit advanced experience. So i would suggest you to follow the link you posted with the tutorial, there is a package with required files also, everything that's needed. It will work great for you I am sure and there could be much less chances to screw up installation.

i'm using asus wl-138g. works oob, but should be v.2 (with broadcom chip). Heard also 168-g (usb wi-fi adapter) works fine, but never tried it.

do i need to plugin the card before installing osx or can i add it later aswell?

you can add it later. some extensions are installed (embedded into others) already so they make it workable later on.

Do you have an OS X system available to use and resetup this DVD? If so check out the chameleon site to alter the DVD image with a chameleon bootloader.
also, make sure when you write the DVD, you burn it SLOW... anything 4x or less.
