"Yes, we know the 9.6 kernel sources are up - we started working on it a few minutes after it was made available :) The bad news is that Apple made a lot of changes in the kernel, most of them directly modifying the same parts that Voodoo does. So the port is almost going to be a rewrite. Expect it to take a few weeks. Early January is a good ETA for a beta of Voodoo 2.0."
We'll be anxiously awaiting this new release... However, don't be afraid to use Voodoo v1.0 with OS X 10.5.6; just be sure you've included the proper decryption and Power Management disabler (if on AMD) in your list of added kernel extensions.

So, is the old system kext needed or we can use the new one?

Always use system.kext that matches your kernel. Various problems could be encountered if they don't match, like mounting images etc. Until new voodoo is out we should use voodoo v1 kernel with 9.5.0 system.kext.

Ok, thanks milanca, I asked cause I have no problem whatsoever with the new one, but I'll get back to 9.5 system just to avoid trouble.

Any updates? There is a beta from Andy.. and no more news..
It works very well for cpus=2 while the vanilla kernel would only work with cpus=1 (or else deadlock panic)

It's delayed because they're working with the chameleon team, so when they release the new bootloader voodoo proyect will be back on track.

Yikes, not looking good. We need to start helping them or there wont be a voodoo kernel in the future I suspect

Geez, they still haven't ported the kernel over to 9.6.0...
I've had 4 revisions of my kernel while they have had no release at all...
Where is the competition staying (joke...) with their kernel?
NOTE: Release 4 of my kernel (V1.4) should support fully cpus=4...

Maybe it takes longer to do it right :)
