My last problem with 10.5.6.

System stands still from time to time. Only mousemovements are possible then.
After 15 seconds or so it goes on as normal.
If I look in Log the last entry always is:

26.12.08 20:47:47 System Profiler[710] sysctl machdep.cpu.core_count errno = 2, trying machdep.cpu.cores_per_package

Anybody knows what that might be? Running voodoo v1 on AMD.

test with boot flag cpus=1 and see if this mouse hang goes away. The voodoo kernel hasn't had mouse lag issues since the early alphas but it may be worth mentioning over on their site as this could help them with the developments down the road.

Taisto:
Prozessortyp: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
Prozessorgeschwindigkeit: 2.2 GHz
Anzahl der Prozessoren: 1
Gesamtzahl der Kerne: 1
L2-Cache: 512 KB
CPU-Funktionen: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SSE3

nfoav8or: I'll check this flag out now. It worked well on 10.5.5. so i don't know if it's a kernel issue. The mouse is actually ok, it's the the system that hangs, only the mouse is still movable then, I will report later!

Edit//
-- is the flag still valid? Can't find it in the Doc: http://xnu-dev.googlecode.com/files/Voodoo%20Kernel%20User%20Documentation.pdf

Don't knwo if this parameter changes something, but this hanging is still there.
Must be something different:

27.12.08 17:17:57 System Profiler[1134] sysctl machdep.cpu.core_count errno = 2, trying machdep.cpu.cores_per_package

Anyone any ideas?
