Hello everyone I have a problem...

My Computer is: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/450ROG/3501353sp66.shtml
Chipset: Intel 855PM
Audio: AC97
Video: ATI Radieon Mobility 7500
Proccesor: 1400mhz Celeron M
RAM: 512MB DDR SDRAM
Harddrive: Toshiba 60GB ATA

I am installing Mac OS X 10.5.5 (iDeneb) and after a succesful install I get stuck on the
Mac loading screen with the spinning gear. During load up if i type in boot flag -v cpus=1
I go through the scrolling text and I get stuck on "MAC framework successfully initialized using...."

In customization I only picked 9.4 Kernel and nothing else. Got the same error when I picked the
9.4 Kernel and the ICH chipsets.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

I have yet to hear of the 855 being supported on machines later than 10.4.1.

If anyone else has, please feel free to correct me. I know the 865 works with Kalyway though.

If you've got the 855 chipset then this is a good heads up. Thanks.

I have a similar configuration. Thinkpad T40

Chipset: Intel 855PM
Video: ATI Radieon Mobility 7500
Proccesor: 1500mhz Pentium M

Kalyway 1.5.1 worked great. I then used the Voodoo kernel for awhile, worked fine.

Then I tryied updating to 10.5.5 with the combo update. Now I remain stuck at "Mac framework success....."

I havn't found the fix yet.

if you are having problems with the apple combo updates I suggest not using them... Use Zephyroth's AMD Software Update to patch all the single Apple updates you want by placing the pkg file in your download folder before running ASU. Select Modify only and wait for the updates to be recreated. Then install them. and yes, you should still use the voodoo kernel.

Hey guys i finally got leopard 10.5.6 installed on my hp dv1010us laptop.

Used the XXX install package 10.5.6 Universal Final with the Voodoo 9.5 Kernel

Chipset: Intel 855(north), ICH4 (south)
Processor : Intel Celeron M 1.4ghz (SSE & SSE2)
Hard drive : 100 GB IDE
Sound : (Fully supported) Generic Sound driver
Network: (Fully supported) Generic Realtek 8139
Wireless: (Fully supported) Broadcom 4106
Ive been working on this model for a while now, and the reason i kept getting kernel panics.... I failed to install the south bridge chipset driver. This is the reason why most people with this chipset get a kernel panic after install.
Still no driver for the video though, when computer is left alone for a while it freezes and reboot is necessary, also the dvd player app doesnt work (tried vlc, didnt work either).

Any Suggestions.

Probably a bit late to reply but just been playing with this machine now.
Install OK with Leo4All 4.1 (10.5.4), network connection worked ootb, display resolution is native 1024x768 without kext loaded, quartz GL supported.
Issues: not able to boot wihout DVD and no audio.

fix for audio:
deleted all audio kexts
modified AppleAC97Audio kext
installed modified kext

fix for boot
followed this link to fix boot error:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78235

disabled all ACPI kexts
installed the ones in file attached in the link
disabled the AppleEFIRuntime.kext.

Repair disk permissions
Reboot

Both pmbs solved at boot!!
