Right now I have a driver that semi works with 10.5.6, I'm using the same driver I had for 10.5.2 however somehow I lost QE/CI support.

Also the driver likes to crash System Profiler.

Does anybody have a driver they are using that gives QE/CI support, doesn't crash VNC and allows resolution changes?

The default driver in the 10.5.6 update said it had QE/CI support, and it worked in DVD player. But Teeworlds and VNC crashed it.

Thanks.

I think you need

AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext with (version 1.4.20.28) From 10.5.1

download the 10.5.1 update and pull it from there?

is that what you were advising Ianxxx? just wanted to clarify a bit, sorry.

This is the problem that I'm having now. I have resolution changing but QE/CI fails to work and when I check them I get this kernel panic.

Yep that would be my suggestion download update extract kext with pacifist and then open the package copy framebuffer and place in the installed kext

The 10.5.1 Framebuffer makes no difference. I'm in the same boat I have QE/CI but I don't have full resolution (1024x768 as opposed to 1280x1024) and the VNC server causes a kernel panic.

Try this thread here;

Final solution (FIX) for GMA950 Desktop edition - NEW 28 DEC 08, Use all stock GMA950 files - full resolution and zero artifacts. (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=143340)

Ladies and Gentlemen, We've done it!!!

It was a DSDT issue -- and now it's fixed.

Now after using the attached DSDT.aml file and kexts, you should get:

- Full resolution changing using the most up-to-date stock kexts (including the 10.5.6 framebuffer)
- Quartz Extreme and Core Image support
- Rotation - requires reboot to return to normal.
- Absolutely no artifacts.
- Sleep/Wake-up support
- System updates will no longer break graphics. (update safe)

Hope it works :)

Edit:

I see you already found that thread?

Yeah it is an absolutely amazing fix, although I lost the ability to connect to the network.
