Specs:
Intel Pentium D 930
Asus P5WD2-E Premium
2 GB DDR2 533MHz
GeForce 7300GT 256MB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 300GB (SATA port 0, named 3rd Master in BIOS)
Optiarc DVDRW (Primary IDE master)

Here are the results so far:
I have used JaS 10.4 a long time ago. Success.
I have used Leo4All v2 since it was released. Worked fine using netkas Speedstep kernel. :)
(Kalyway 10.5.2 also worked but was a too messed up distro.)

And so I thought about 10.5.6.
iPC PPF2 DVD did not boot, stops at "Waiting for boot volume"
iPC Final DVD did not boot, stops at "Waiting for boot volume"
Latest XxX DVD did not boot, stops at "Waiting for boot volume"
...and so did Leo4All v3, JaS 10.5.4 Server/Client and a few others.

I tried the Boot-132 solutions together with my Retail 10.5 disc, whether Madtux with Voodoo-kernel, DFE/Grub-DFE or the Modbin alternative.

Then it crossed my mind - skip AHCI.
After activating IDE emulation in the Mobo, most DVD:s are booting. Yay!

iPC PPF2 did boot and install. Installation worked. (Netkas or Voodoo kernel, PC_EFI V9, NVinject 256MB, ALC882, Skgr Marvell and SMBIOS-TOH)

But Finder kept restarting when I opened the Finder settings.
I erased the drive again and tried iPC Final instead. DVD did not boot, "waiting..."
Why? Aren't PPF2 and Final using the same bootloader/kernel?

XxX 10.5.6 Final does boot, install and works fine after installation. :-d
No crashes. The only minor glitch is it's english language only.

I went back to iPC PPF2 installation, only to find it won't boot after installation! And I did install the same kexts as last time!?!

And so I have three choices,
1) Go back to Leo4All 10.5.2
2) Use XxX 10.5.6 in english
3) Get some help from you guys ;)

Oh, I forgot.

I tried an IDE->SATA adapter to put the DVD as SATA-1. No difference.
I wrote down the UUID and tried the UUID parameters when using Boot-132.
platform=X86PC or platform=ACPI did not matter either.

Anyone please?

Can I install XxX 10.5.6 and add other languages from my retail disc?
Do I need Pacifist to do that?
