It would be helpful to include a 1 sentence description with your announcement. I have no idea what this application is for or what it does! :)

You can read it`s purpose on the screen ;) It applies custom themes to your system. You can change colors, buttons, apps skins etc. There are few themes already available on the site, you can preview them.

Duh, good point... :D
Can't you just copy the sart** files over? It's not that I support automation, I really do, but this just leads to an influx of more n00bs and more "i want to copy this how do i copy". Nice app, but we really don't need it. If Magnifique becomes popular and then goes out, that would mean that 85% of the people using that application will be lost completely. Let them learn. Don't spoonfeed them.

Good point. Oh, and one of the things I like about this community at InfiniteMac is that the number of noobs is soooooo much smaller than InsanelyMac and the average user tech level is MUCH better.

Yeah I love that InfiniteMac is way quieter and in more respects a community.

Sometimes, 1 button is better than 2 Finder windows and a couple of mouse clicks. :P
Plus, this is for real macs too. Not just OSx86 users. This would be somewhat equivalent to the awesome theme installers on Windows, and the argument you posed would mean that they too should learn on their own. I guess there's a lot of hex editing those noobs need to learn then.

just to elaborate on what was said earlier. Why do i like osx so much i only boot windows when i have to????? Well because i dont have to jump through hoops just to do something. Its also so amiga like its untrue it can be as techy to use as you want it or as easy to use as you want. Without having arcane things like a registry. So I think it good to have apps that make life easy for anyone it introduces ppl to a new way of computing. Once you got the basics mastered you actually feel in control. No i dont beleive ppl should have it all on a plate and they should have to work a bit to get results but whats wrong with having apps that just get on with what may be a simple task. I mean its not like we all sit here coding drivers is it

Perfectly said. They all have it on a silver platter while the rest of us try and teach them to do something.

MoC, dude, you think all this does is apply SArtFiles? ;) Oh no no no...This can apply FULL SYSTEM themes with skins to every app in the computer if necessary. It lets developers easily distribute your themes. Try copying 200 files to their locations using Finder, and you'll see that some automation would be nice. And managing a theme library of sartfiles isn't fun either. Oh and uninstallation? That's a pain sometimes with full system skins, but this has it built in :)
In any case MacUpdate disagrees. A 5 star rating (so far) and 1,100+ downloads on the first day :) I just thought some clarification would be nice
R0GUE,
No it doesn't support GUIKits as of now, but we are already working away on that :)

Really sorry to bump and old thread, but I really did not want to create a new thread with the same subject. I have not been able to download any themes with Magnifique. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it completely, and I have even tried it on the root account, with full access. I get the same error every time. No one on any forum seems to know what is wrong, can anyone help me here? Thanks.

Have you tried reparing permissions, as the program may not have write access to the tmp directory? Also do you have any non-standard characters in your boot drive name? Sometimes that can cause issues.
