Well, the question isn't so much if I can run it; I know my hardware is far beyond what is needed...but I can't figure out if my video card is supported.

I just built this machine on Saturday, and it was my first build. It went smooth, other than me being an idiot and forgetting thermal grease XO.

I plan on dual booting, but I have already install Windows XP Professional Edition SP 2. Can I install OSx86 on my second HDD without messing with Windows?

Here is the machine:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359)

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017)

RAM: CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184)

Video Card: HIS Hightech H487QT1GP Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161265)

Yes, the best way to install OSx86 is on a second hard disk drive for exactly that reason. As for Radeon, no idea... just install it and see if EFI Studio has a string for it... otherwise you can manually figure out the EFI String for most video cards
