9800gt

Hi!

I need to buy a graphic card, so I need to know if this card is going to work on osx86
thats 9800GT not GTX .. or maybe even GTX if manage to buy it..
i don't see too many users with this card..
and some users have problems with resolution

i have a 22" monitor, so i intend to use 1680x1050

I have an EVGA 9800gt Akimbo. Nvinject works great, just select your ram size. I am running iDeneb 10.5.5 with a Gigabyte EP45-DS3R

what resolution do you use ?
i was hoping to use iPC 10.5.6... if it doesn't install on the osx install, is there a specific driver ?

Install iPC OSx86 Universal 10.5.6 with nvdarwin!:)

i've installed with iPC 10.5.6 universal Nvdarwin 512 but it doesn't work..

i've managed to install it with 9800gtx nviject and it works, but not on 1680x1050.. when i set this up the screen turns blue.. and nothing happens..

i have QE and CI enabled but cant get it to 1680x1050.. it runs on 1400 or something
does somebody know how to fix this ?

does anybody here uses a 22" monitor?
i can only use 1440 x 900 resolution..
whenever i set 1680x1050 the screen gets blue, and after restart, it puts it back on 1440x900...

help ?

I've done it !!!

this was the case:

I installed osx86 using iPC 10.5.6 Universal
didn't chose any kernel, and no video driver, only the rest
so it was running on 1024 res

i tried to use nvidia9000 series, but it didn't work at all.

then i installed NVinstaller v.52.pkg , and checked Vanilla and other drivers, and 512mb ofcourse
and i got QE/IC on reboot

but the resolution was still 1440x900

so i went to change it to 1680x1050 but it didnt work, only got the blue screen

next i did, i changed it to 1600x1200, and got the blue screen but restarted and it was running on that res.

then i did the same when i set it to 1680x1050, and it WORKED :D !!!

but, i still dont see any /library/extensions folder... which is weird
