hi guys: i came from linux so i'm use to: u plug an usb drive, so hald daemon detects it, and notify trough dbus daemon to filemanager u're using, to mount the new usb device.....

now i'm using 10.5.6, fassl kernel, voodoo kernel, toh kernel. no matters what kernel use, i plug the usb drive (flash), and "System Profiler App" detects it, "USB Prober App" (which comes wit xcode) detects it, but never gets mount, it seems like "mounting daemon" (dunno if something like that exits, but must be) is working wrong.

Besides that i get some error, preventing me from using USB 2, but when i boot with "-f flag" the problems's gone. anyway, USB 2 or USB 1, drives still unmounted....

don't know what to do.....hope someone can help.... erick

problem should be solved with a system.kext matching the version of the kernel.

i extract System.kext 9.5 fro the apple update and tried with that, and now thne issue is fixed.
what i not understand is that i reinstalled System.kext from the voodoo kernel...
