View Full Version : ISO graphics card recommendation (HDMI support needed, 3D irrelevant)

Hi all,

I am currently using iPC 10.5.6. (vanilla kernel) on my following system:

- board: Asus P5K-E WiFi
- CPU: Core2Quad 9200
- graphics: Asus ATi 3650 Silent (512 MB)

However, I cannot get my ATI card to work correctly (monitor sleep does not work; connecting my Sony 40" HDTV does not work at all). So I need a recommendation for another card, preferably a Nvidia. I do NOT need 3D performance, since I mainly do HD-video and photo processing. I am looking for the following:

- a card that is perfectly supported by OSX86
- preferably a card that has a HDMI out,
- preferably the card should support sound-out-via-HDMI as well (HTPC support, meaning that your graphics card acts as a soundcard, as well)

I am currently considering the ASUS Nvidia EN9400GT Silent/DI. But I cannot find out whether this one has what I am looking for. So any advice would be highly appreciated!

Best,
Dave
