Hey there,
iīve just started the project OSX on my Notebook again. I wasnīt successfull the last time so i gave up but now i hope to get it running with some help from YOU! :)
Iīm using a Fujitsu-Siemens NB running AMD Turion64, NForce Chipset and NV Graphics.
I tried Leo4All and iPC as well but iPC just gave me the Apple screen during install which freezes soon and Leo stopps a little later.
Donīt know if there is a special incompatibility with my chipset or maybe iīve done something very stupid wrong but i canīt figure out how to go on.
I know these are newbies questions and though iīm an average skilled Windows User i just started the Mac-Experience.
Please help me out or give me a little hint, there must be a solution out there..
Sven

I can't tell you exactly where it stopped. I tried the iPC release on an older HP Intel Notebook and it worked except for the internal WLAN which is probably not supportet at this time. For now i will continue work on that machine but i really wonder why no release is running on the AMD System. I was using the -v option on setup. I never saw any installation Screen. It just stopps loading at some point. I will try an other setup or specific AMD release tomorrow to tell you more but since this is my only running Windows System i always have to restore it after unsuccessful installation.

try iPC on that AMD, or lawlessppc which i think it's better for AMD builds.

Again, it didnīt worked with the Lawless distro. It stopped with the "waiting for root device" error.
Since iīm running a notebook i cannot change or plug-off devices.
I tried to use an external DVD Drive but my BIOS isnīt capable of booting from external Devices.
I donīt know what to try next, maybe some spec of my Notebook helps you telling me if there is a chance to run any OSX86.
AMD Turion64X2
NForce Chipset 630M
NVidia GeForce 8400M
NForce SATA
It is an Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 2548 Pa and manufacturers website is outdated on that product so i guess there will never be an updated BIOS which allows USB Drive booting or something like that....

"Still waiting for root device"
this is a known issue. i'm not so sure but i believe you boot with something like "rd=disk0" or something, google it pretty sure you'll find it. check out this post Possible solutions for still waiting-for root device (http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/possible-solutions-for-still-waiting-for-root-device-t1467/)

Thanks again. This pushes me a little forward. Now the installer recognizes the disk. It finally stopps after showing me kernel release and System Model Name ( amilo pa 2548 )
Maybe the solution is in the post you mentioned. At least i'm not getting the root device error anymore.

that seems that distro doesn't have the kext for your chipset.

Ah i see. Since iPC is running well on the Intel Notebook i will continue with that one and keep watching for are release with support for the NForce AMD chipset
