Maybe I'm stupid but where on the iPC disc are the kexts? I just don't want to wait on the install disk for drivers. Can't I just install individual kexts off the disk? I can't find them.. anyone know the paths or are they un-accessible?

There are no kexts on the install DVD. The DVD loads drivers from a .mkext file. This is to save space on the DVD.

@Hara Taiki
Just out of curiosity what happens if you boot iPC and use the boot-flag -f to force the loading of kexts from the Extensions folder instead of the cache?

It will boot as it would without using -f. Since there's no files to load from /System/Library/Extensions it will default to Extensions.mkext.

That sucks but I get why... who wants to spend the loot on dual layer dvd's? or some people don't have burners for them

Oh, and I'm using the ALC883 Drivers but if I install the azalia also will that cause problems? I want to see which ones work the best because I am running reason 4 and ableton live and occasionally I get barely noticeable cracks in the playback even though I'm hardly using any processor power
