hi all,

I needed to know whether it is possible to install mac ipc or iatkos on hp dv5 series.

Has anybody tried it or could anybody try it for me.

I prefer knowing the compatibility before buying this notebook.

The hardware spec are:
http://www.gadgetsguru.in/hp-pavilion-dv5-1120tx-notebook-fz740pa-price-specification-buy-india-6525.aspx

chipset is intel pm45 express

Please help me to know the correct customization settings for the same if installing is possible.

Thanks
Maxrock:)

I would first find information on the drivers of each OSX pacakge, Every release is different depending on the author and not all have certain drivers. So you might have to use some from different packages. In the mac world they are called KEXTS.

Then see if that pacakge supports your hardware. Match the chipset, video, network, network wireless, sound, etc.

Then you should be good to go.. Also: some bioses just dont like it. I have a DV6700 series AMD and Nvidia, can't install it. It does not recognize the controller...

Oh okie..

Thanks for the suggestion.

U might have understood that im a newbie to all this..

Actually an older model with name hp 6910tx having almost the same config as wat im planning to buy was compatible for the installation.(the guy with the 6910tx is now working with the mentioned ipc osx86 10.5.6 package).

but i heard those are out of stock now and the new dv5 have replaced it.

also i had a look at this
http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.6/Portables#HP_DV5-1100_Series

im not sure wat to do.
