I managed to install OS X using the iDeneb 1.4 ISO and set up a dual boot with windows 7 without any problems but I get stuck at the apple logo. Nothing happens and it doesn't seem like the hard drives are loading anything.

Any ideas on what I can do from here?

My PC:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
Asus P5Q P45+ICH10R
ATI HD4870 512MB
2x2GB G.Skill PC-6400
500GB + 640GB WD Cavier SE 7200rpm
Creative X-fi Xtreme Music

This is what I get when I boot with -v or with -x -v. It just stays like this with no change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you need to replace your ACPIPlatform.kext with a compatible one if you did not check ACPIPlatform.kext option during the install. or make sure your Bios is setup right

ACPI 2.0 Support - Enable
ACPI APIC Support - Enable

ACPI 2.0 Support was Disabled so I enabled that but it didn't change anything regarding the boot process. I'm still stuck at the same line.

Does iDeneb 1.4 come with this ACPIPlatform.kext in the installer or do I have to download it seperatley? Do you think it will fix the problem?

Thanks.

Try "platform=X86PC" as boot flag. so you can skip ACPI checks.

Hi erick, I tried using that command running iPC 10.5.6 and it didn't change anything. I still get stuck when I try to reboot.

I'm thinking I might be looking at this the wrong way.

Whenever I install a kext file it has no effect on my install. The entry shows up when I do a kextstat but the kexts never work. I tried installing my ethernet and sounds kexts and many other kexts and they don't seem to function at all.

Maybe if I could manage to get the kexts to start working probably I can use a fix to help my restart/shutdown issue.

Now what can I do to get kexts to install properly? I usually use kext helper, though I've tried the OSx86Tools Kext installer and I have tried installing manually as well. None seem to work.

Any help?

EDIT: Wait a minute I thought this was a reply to another topic I had. I managed to get passed the apple logo and installed successfully but I still have some problems. Major ones at that.
