I have the maximus formula motherboard and a Q9550, 4gb ocz reaper, HD4870, IDE dvd writers, and sata hard drives. I cant seem to install OS X, no matter what I try.

Im kinda new to this. I used iAtkos on my old hardware and also installed it in XP using the flat-img.

Has anyone installed it on my motherboard or knows how? What should I set the bios options to? Is there a modified bios I could use to flash my bios?

Thanks

I put this in my sig, but for some reason its not showing up..

ASUS Maximus Formula
Q9550 @ 3.6ghz
4GB OCZ Reaper 1158mhz
Sapphire HD4870
5 WD Sata hard drives
2 IDE DVD, Sony/LG
Antec P180
Antec Tru Power 650
Zalman 9700 led

What precisely is the problem for installing?
Also could you post your HD controllers?

Name a HD controller and I will be able to tell you if thats the right one.. I know that the ide controller is a jmicron, as for the sata controller, I cant think right now..

But here is what happens when I try to boot the iAtkos 5i DVD

Yes it is an ICH9R controller but this problem does not seem to be related to the controller itself...
Does the MD5 checksum match properly (in other words, is it correct)?
I think you have got a faulty OS X install DVD...
I would recommend XXX 10.5.6 over iAtkos 5i also...

I found one called md5.exe and it asks for you to select the file you would like to check and enter the checksum to see if it matches.

I will check it when I get home from work, but what if it checks out to be good.., Then what do you think the problem could be?

I chose the 3870 cause i didnt know any better and when it restarted it said " i need to hold the power button down to restart it, so .. . Im gonna try and reinstall it with out selecting any video drivers..

Another thing, what do i need to select once i get to the customize section of the installation>
