Hello everyone! :)

~pcwiz guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=121849
~Testing Grounds iPC guide: http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2009/04/leopard-os-x-1056-on-your-pc.html

MY SYSTEM
CPU: Intel Q6600
MB: Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R F2 (Rev. ##)
RAM: 1x2GB SAMSUNG DDR2 800MHz
VGA: eVGA GeForce 8600GT 256MB

DOWNLOAD & BURN
Sometimes Linux lies if it is burned right, and also under windows if you have Daemon Tools running, there are some issues, and burning will be roasted, even if during install, the verify says OK.

Use rather ImgBurn in windows, or use it like this under Linux:
http://jdrrant.blogspot.com/2009/01/imgburn-on-linux.html

DISKS
1x SATA Western Digital 200GB
1x PATA Western Digital 160GB
1x PATA LG drive
1x SATA LG drive

I think these are the essential things on installing it. I will try to do so, only to use my ATA cable, with means I have connected an empty WD 160GB HDD and an LG DVD-RW. 1st I tried with my SATA drive, but somehow I get always the message that the disc is damaged....so that why I try it this way now.

BIOS
Prepared my BIOS as~pcwiz's guide sad. Set SATA mode to AHCI, everything else stayed system default.

BOOT DVD
Sometimes I boot with press F8 and type: -v

PARTITIONS
Disk Utility > Erased all partitions > 1 partition > Mac OS Extended (Journaled) > name: OSX
OPTIONS > GUID partition (or MBR)

PATCHES & DRIVERS
VGA > NVinject (256MB)
System > Sata > Intel SATA + AHCI SATA + JMicron
Network > Realtek R1000

INSTALL REPORT - KALYWAY 10.5.1 with ~pcwiz settings
I did everything that was mentioned in the guide, but still, I get always the same: INSTALL FAILED (media damaged)
But what I had to notice, with the same setting, so nothing changed it does not always do the same, but usually it stopped right after the install begins. *Kalyway 10.5.1 and also 10.5.2*

INSTALL REPORT - iDeneb 1.1 & 1.3 & 1.4 with ~pcwiz settings
Which also like randomly stops with this error somewhere on the way, but usually install up to 5-6GB. *tried 1.1 and 1.3* But I got once so close to be done, there was 2 minutes left only, so that would have been around 80% of the installation I believe.

INSTALL REPORT - iATKOS i5 not with ~pcwiz settings
When it comes to install my HDD makes 2 knick-knock sounds, then install fails

INSTALL REPORT - JaS 10.8.4 not guide used
Installs fine, goes upto 100%!

Then with the 1st boot this:

BOOTING
Couldn't boot yet any distributions.

SOLUTION
NOT FOUND YET!

QUESTION & HELP
WTF is wrong? ...obviously something "special", since I did everything what the guide did say. Is the LG dvd recorder the problem?

Try installing using XXX 10.5.6 final 2...
It should support that Jmicron SATA quite well...

Hi Class,

Welcome to infinitemac board and enjoy your stay here. I hope you can find answers to your questions here and have good time here sharing knowledge and experience.

I rather wouldn't send you my packages, files and dsdt cause we have just slightly different boards. Recently me and Aydinz did a perfect install for his motherboard (exactly the same model as yours) with my little help, as the rest of system like graphic card etc. As i don't keep the records of his fixed dsdt I would suggest you to contact him and get everything you need for your system. He keeps his files organized and i am sure he will send it to you.

Yes, there is a fixed Jmicron kext but i would suggest you to use only your sata drives, hdd and dvd; its better with sata drives. It seems you had lots of troubles. Could be that your media was damaged.

Regards

Hey!

Thanks for the greetings and answer! :)

I will sure contact Aydinz then, and ask him aswell.

Regarding my media....I'm don't know, maybe all my burners and OS are gone crazy?!

I have a laptop, so I burned there with ImgBurn and Nero, did also verification. 100% OK! With the PC where I want to install OSX, so this one I have the PATA & SATA drives, I use Ubuntu and Vista in dual boot, so I burned here also with Nero, ImgBurn and under Ubuntu also with NeroLinux. I tried both burners, well my PATA seem to make always errors, so I barely use it anymore, just for reading, but the other is "brand" new...so must be OK.

...and anyway, it's strange that sometimes, for example most recently I tried a lots of times Kalyway 10.5.1....1st didn't do anything, just dropped me the fail, 2nd time it install about ~3-4GB, 3rd time again did nothing.....and later it did almost full install, 2minutes were left, and then it stopped again. So that means the media must be OK, but something somewhere must be not! :'(

Everybody else any ideas? :-d
